And all I'm saying is that it's irrelevant what the edit was or what the clip shows as the guy who laid in to him hadn't actually seen him do anything. I think the snowboarder was polite and courteous throughout, whilst the slope patroller was rude, bigoted and ignorant throughout.
How can it be irrelevant, if, for example, a part prior to what we can see showed the young lad speeding past a beginner too close and they fell down and that's why they were stopped then it's totally RELEVANT. But you clearly cant be open minded enough to imagine the possibility...........................................shame really |

Because when its your Job to enforce rules to paying customers, you should do it courteously and politely no matter what. I'd hate to be in your house if you think that going slightly too fast someone and possible causing them to fall over (even though that only MAYBE happened, like in your head) means you swear at them. Bet christmas was delightful for your friends and family "I didn't see you, but you MAY have caused offence to someone like half a mile away you ****** ***** ******". |

Seriously, how the hell did me trying to be sensible and see a potential other side to a story turn into some sh1t fest against me?
At no point did I say I thought the lads were wrong or the patrollers were right, ONLY THAT IT MIGHT NOT BE AS OPEN AND SHUT AS THE VIDEO SUGGESTS, open your minds guys!
And with respect Siany, as you don't know me, please don't comment on my friends and family! |

I think if I was in the position of the ski patrol and the kid filming was butting into a situation that didn't involve him i would have told him to shut it or do one.
The issue was between ski patrol and the kid who landed a jump in a slow zone If his friend had the sense to shut up and keep out of it then the one they had the issue with would not have had his pass pulled for 2 days.
In fact if you look at any job that involves resolving situations Police / Bouncers they will almost always tell the friend of the person in trouble to do one as it complicates the situation.
Ok his choice of phrase was wrong but he may have been having a bad day or the kid was know to patrol so the patrol had made up his mind he was trouble. |

I'm not sure what your comment was to be honest, I'm not 12 so I dont think putting something in capitals would be defined as shouting.
I did think people were struggling to understand my point, so thought I would make it clearer by putting it in capital letters, clearly wrong again.....................................................I must try harder |

People taking the internets too seriously up in this bitch.
I go by no harm no foul, but anyone who has a job enforcing rules they might or might not agree with can easily be mistaken for a jobsworth.
Swearing at a paying customer is seldom the correct response however. |

| It doesn't matter what those guys did or didn't do, that was gross misconduct from the ski patrol. No excuses for that behaviour. |

Maybe, just maybe that would be viable if he'd given both of the guys involved a chance to speak, instead of treating a part of the consumer base he serves with prejudice and contempt from the off set.
Whether he'd done something or not, Dunx hit the nail on the head. The ski patroller hadn't seen anything and took the opportunity to lay into two young guys because his wife no longer finds him sexually attractive.
Maybe they were persistent offenders, maybe they've been called up on it before. Neither are an excuse to be profane, disrespectful and aggressive whilst in an authoritative capacity.
It's not the resorts fault, but I do think they don't deserve their passes being pulled and I hope the patroller gets his own stern talking to. That and being publicly named and shamed as he already has is more than enough recompense imo. Pretty embarassing (and rightly so)!
Got to love them schooling him in appropriate behaviour at the end! |

Snowgirl makes the valid point that if the guy had done something earlier that we don't see on the edit, then he deserves to be stopped, spoken to sterny and have his pass pulled. I agree.
But, my point is that the guy who lays in to him saw nothing of what happened. The edit has nothing to do with it.
Regardless of what the patroller saw, his actions were way OTT in response to the snowboarder's politeness. |

I didn't think he was going that fast and was riding in control so think it's way OTT.
He was also pretty polite and stopped when he was asked to. The attitude of the patrol / instructor is poor and I think he's been sacked now.
That said I don't think I would have bothered with the side hit with the guy in the blue coat standing right next to it. |
