OK, can someone please explain proper lift etiquette to me as I am clearly getting it wrong. In Europe, I make allowances for Johnny Foreigner and their poor grasp of queuing systems. In UK domes I have a lower threshold for queue jumping.
Is it reasonable to run your skis or snowboard into mine as I have just turned the corner to the button in an attempt to get onto the lift before me? Is it reasonable to join the shorter queue to bypass all the people waiting patiently? Is it reasonable for children to get in my way? Is it reasonable for me to make them cry? etc... |

doesnt take much explanation:
push to the front as quickly as possible without anyone scratching your board.
yes it is acceptable for other people to run over your board, especially if theyre french. this is your own fault. be more vigilant.
yes it is ok for children to get in your way, theyre children? what are you going to do? kick them? |

haha yeah, this reminds me of MK, for some reason everyone seems to que in the same line and the give you looks when you just ride past and get in the que with no one in it
I reckon its normally car drivers who on the road are quite happy to push there way to the front that get the most upset.....there not in there natural habitat and dont understand why there not at the front |

Lift queue's. The Yin to snowboardings Yang.
I try and stay chilled about it all tbh and would sooner drop a few places in the interest of preserving my kit. Though that hasn't worked either as my once beautiful board is now 10% Araldite. I don't really go to dome's so i am talking about the ones in the resorts.
Have also heard something on here called "The Paddington stare" maybe try that OP? |

| The domes dont help the situation by having two queues for the same lift. |

| They do that to get people away from the danger area at the bottom of the slope, so is eminently sensible. |

They do actually. It keeps the bottom of the slope clear and therefore makes it safer.
Its pretty simple when it comes to pomas. When you get to the bottom, go to the queue with the smallest amount of people in it. If you know there are two queues for one lift and you choose to go to the longest one, then you can't really complain when people join the shortest one

Snake ski bitches and pick children up and put them behind you, they are that size for a reason. If you think you could take them in a fight, feel free to rag on them if they clip your board too.

| Good Lord people! I had to check my passport... no still British. We wait patiently in line letting all women and children go first with a hearty "no, really, after you" safe in the knowledge that this will you bring good Karma and make you a better rider. If they dis you (or anybody else) in any way or damage your (or anybody else's) board then you declare war. |

Would love to see that. Make eye contact and sneeze at them without blinking! Not sure I can sneeze command though, could just hock up a greenie... |

I find it highly amusing to unclip peoples skis if they ride over my board to get ahead of me. I then just slip through the gap they create when they have to go back to clip it back in
I've only ever seen red once in a lift when some guy actually pushed me over to get to his friends. I did the old unclip the ski thing but picked his ski up and threw it the other side of the barrier. I did get on the lift as quickly as possible after that though! |
