Yes it'd be fun.
I can't see that it'd help with your snowboarding though - none of the techniques of people hitting the jumps look anything like any techniques for hitting normal kickers.
I can see it being useful in places like the northern states of America, or central prairies of Canada where it gets cold and snowy, but there aren't any hills. But its a fairly ridiculous waste of money if you're in a lift served mountain resort!
Also I don't get why this would get you to try tricks, especially not if you mean trying out tricks that you'd normally do on a snowboard? I'd be way more inclined to try tricks on a normal slope where you have way more control than being yanked by a big towrope! |

If you look into it then it's a really good idea. These cables are pretty new and are massively different to a standard cable at a wake park. System 2.0 are not fixed structures and run on approx £75 worth of electricity a day. The fact that you could operate them as wakeboard tows in the summer and snowparks in the winter makes sense to me. Redbull weren't the first to do this as Secitec (the company who manufacture the system 2.0) made a park in Norway in Feb 2010

This vid is much better than the Redbull effort imho |

| It's not about getting better at snowboarding, it's about doing something fun in a place where you generally wouldn't have anything to do |

Apart from use the ski lift next to it and see the whole mountain rather than a section of the car park... |

| The original video isn't set at the base of a resort. Granted it doesn't make much sense putting one there but I think you're being quite narrow minded. Not ever snowboarder wants to see the whole mountain, some guys are happy just hitting man made features in a park. It all depends on what floats your boat |

I don't think people are being narrow minded at all, just saying it's only really any good if it's somewhere with no hills to play on at all.
I can see a very niche market popping up for it and I'd imagine specific equipment will follow too.
All looks a bit silly for my tastes though, but I'm sure it's a lot of fun to actually do it! |
