Just can't seem to make my mind up! Im bored with the Smith Fuse goggles i have, and ive narrowed it down to these two.
Ive found them both for around £98 which im happy to pay, but i dont know which to get!?
I know the EG2's claim to be helmet compatible, but does anyone have any experience wearing them with a helmet?
The splices are fully compatible i know, but i cant help thinking the much larger frames of the EG2's are awesome - not to mention the Volcom design
I also know of the EG2.5v that are slightly smaller, but the bigger the frame, the better they look (right?)
EG2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ol6Lbjew3cs
Splice - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4cISPfO ... re=related (i had to share this video, what a complete tool this guy is!)
So what would you guys get?
Thanks in advance
Josh |

My choice was between the Oakleys and the Von Zippers. In the end though, I Spliced it. Not used them yet but off to France on the 6th Jan - I'll know if I made the right choice on the 7th |

Which VZ's?
There are just too many to choose from, and no one-shop stocks the lot (understandably, as they'd loose so much money!)
Shame that there isnt a place that has EVERYTHING - even if the companies themselves put the stock there so people could browse & buy. Like the EXPO/ISPO show's they do pre-season, but in half a dozen shops around the UK full-time |

Had Splice before and have to say they were comfy as fook. Tried the EG2 and they're bloody massive. I had the problem of not getting a complete seal around the nose/cheek join area. I could look down and see daylight.
Get some of these instead.

£85 but only 1 lens. REALLY hate the APX marketing ppl (in a Bill Hicks way)... Some of them (such as the Firebox ones) have a 2nd lens, but what gets my goat is that some shops list the 2nd lens as "free" or "bonus" but then charge a higher price for that option... In my books that's not free or a bonus...
Doing a quick google there's a few SCUK-partner companies that have the option with a "bonus" 2nd lens (but costs more, so hardly a "bonus") - won't list them here tho as i dont think it's their fault but Dragon's marketing deciding this description and not the shops.
To top it off... Some early reviews of the APX goggles on YouTube quoted them coming with 3 lenses (with no mention of 2 or 1 lens options).... Noticed this 3 lens config is available, but obviously costs even more... |

I've got a pair of EG2s, me best mate has a pair also and they work fine with his helmet and go over his glasses
Was going to do a review, but couldn't be bothered
They are nice... I like them, but I don't think they are worth the £104 I paid for them
The vision is great yeah, but I never really had many problems with my Dragon DXS's for £50 which are far, far smaller
I guess I haven't bonded with them yet

I have a rather small head, but they fit okay
Hope that helps mate
Oh, lens replacement is also insanely easy, just pull them frame apart like hulk |

'real life' photo of them also showing the sick box they come in

I originally ordered the Specter ones (the ghosties, yay), but sent it back as the lens was far too see through (could see your eyes easily) |

Cheers Sidget, i was struggling to find 'real life' photo's of them - As soon as i can be bothered to unlock my PayPal account (limited due to having more then £2k go through it) then im going to buy them
Thinking of flogging a few other things i dont need (bindings come to mind) and getting a contour ROAM too |

this. goggles around the same price range are usually going to be pretty much comparable, do people even still make goggles that arent helmet compatible? i see germans with the sh1t uvex goggles that look like they're from the 60's, with huge microphone helmets. get what fits you the best, you cant see them when theyre on!

Good luck! Although all the goggles you've mentioned will probably be long out of date then! Paypal aren't known for their speedy resolutions! |
