Post subject: Burton AK Cyclic Jacket

Hi guys.. just wondering if anyone else has this jacket?
I've taken it up the mountain once and the lettering as part of the design has started peeling off on the arm and body. Whilst this probably in noway affects the performance of the jacket, it certainly wasn't cheap and it looks kind of silly that I'm now wearing a BU RON jacket.
Anyone else had this problem? Think i'm going to return it this week. |

Used mine for 3 weeks last season in all weather (including p1ssing rain) and had no problems with peeling of the logo/text. To be honest though, the printed stuff is ultra-minimal on this jacket.
Was it last season's version, ie could it have been out on the racks for over a year?
Not sure the Burton warranty will cover this as it's just cosmetic. |

| Where did you buy it from? eBay? Loads of fakes on there. If a legit shop take it back. They're not exactly cheap |

Has anyone taken it back to burton? Or the place of purchase?... If so how did you get on? |

Had mine 3 years i think now and no probs, get worn at home aswell as away and still looks like new. Just bought a new one which is the down version....Toasty!! 
Would take it back, Burton are pretty good on the high end equipment replacement/fixing policy ( I snapped my C60 highback a few years ago and they replaced them FOC with next years highbacks). |

Burton would appear to have changed a few things about the Cyclic jacket for this season. I’ve got one from last year, and another from this year’s line (both size L), and last year’s had much longer arms and feels like a slightly looser fit. The logo / wording on the outside of the older jacket appears to be printed on to the material but this year’s appears to be stuck on.
I’ve not used the new jacket yet, and probably now won’t until next winter. I wouldn’t be too sorry to lose the big AK logo on the back of the new one as it’s a bit too bling for my liking, but I’d be interested to hear the outcome of any warranty claim about this nonetheless. If it’s peeling off it must surely be a quality issue?
I think they’re great jackets, and it’s a pity if there’s a problem here……and a total mystery why Burton may have changed to an inferior technology……if that is indeed what they have done. |

Still waiting to hear the outcome of my return, I took it back to the shop and they said they need to send it away to Burton for them to inspect it because the jacket has been 'used'.
Anyone got the 'stagger' jacket or the '3L hover' and had the same issues. I'm wondering if its worth upgrading to either of those jackets now they are on sale? |

| Anyone had any luck with Burton or retailer? So far all they have done for me is repair the jacket, which hasn't helped at all, lettering falling off as soon as I got it back. They said they won't refund. Really annoyed! |

How long have you had it and how much use has it had?
If it's less than 6 months old it's up to the store (not the manufacturer) to prove it wasn't faulty at the time of purchase. If they can't do this, which is very likely, then they're under obligation to refund, replace, or repair. It's your choice which, but they can reduce the refund amount in line with the amount of usage the jacket has had.
If you haven't had it long and the repair hasn't worked I'd be demanding a brand new replacement or my money back as you've 'lost confidence in the product'.
Can be tricky getting stores to stick to consumer protection legislation though. It's surprising how many store owners don't have the first clue about their legal obligations to their customers. |
