Hi there,
We are thinking of going here for a week in mid-Jan. Has anyone been?
If so, a couple of questions:
- is it an easy walk in to (and more importantly an easy stagger home from) town?
- is it near chair lifts or just drag lifts?
Thanks in advance |

30 seconds walk from the apartments to one of the main six man chairlifts. From town i'd say it was around a 10-15 min walk, double or triple that dependant on alcohol consumption.
If one night you happen to stumble upon a Bataleon Fun Kink and Union Force bindings, let me know. |

| Unfortunately i cant advise on the distances between places as i stay at a families place just down from resort. However I went last january and I thought the slopes were very good and it was generally quiet. There are 7 of us booked for Jan 15th for a week and i can't wait! |

They are a very short walk to a few of the lifts. A couple of bars near them too, the Tiger Bar was pretty good. We walked to Alp D'Huez main centre and it wasn't that far, overall a great place though.
We stayed in these apartments:

Think they are just above the ones you are looking at. We had 6 in each room, reasonable size and a baw hair away from the lifts/shopping/ bar complex. They also have the added advantage of the outdoor heated pool and sauna which was great! |

Like the guys have said, its a 2 min walk to the main 6-man chair up the hill. There is a small shopping complex with a supermarket, pātisserie, bars behind the lift that are handy. However for the main pubs/clubs, its about a 10 min walk along by the sports centre.
Its not too bad a walk after a session in Smithys and having stayed in various parts of the village in the past few seasons, Les Bergers is definitely the best area to get a good sleep each night. |

Good access to Auris too, defo worth a day over there. Area gets totally over looked by those staying in AdH but there is tons of easy to reach off piste! Also better in bad visability, quieter when AdH is busy (not a prob in Jan) or when the main AdH slopes have been blasted by a warm Sun (again, not a prob in Jan). As others have said good access to the mountain via a 6 man chair, but it's not the main lift up so you will need to plan a route to the very top of Pic Blanc (couple of ways), and is usually quieter than the main DMC lift up!
Good area to stay, even if you are 10mins walk from the closest decent bar...30mins to the nightclub area! |
