| On another note - I'm sitting in my livingroom listening to the wind battling off my windows which is making them sound like they're going to blow in! I guess it's just windy everywhere? |

I've been trying to go to Garthdee on a Tuesday night after work - but had a couple of weeks off after I had a nasty fall. Now that there's real snow I'd rather try and take advantage of that and keep the 'death carpet' for summer!
Hopefully the snow will continue for a while and we'll end up with great conditions until April / May like last year... and I can try and get up once every 2-3 weeks.
I've usually got on a blue Westbeach hoody, a blue helmet, and a pair of grey pants when I'm on the carpet. |

Hey p3ps, hey blink,
one more here from Aberdeen. Round about the same skill level, advanced begginer, been going to garthdee for about 18 months now on and off. Sunday nights are usually when i get out to play, i have a SCUK sticker on my helmet (grey) and board, usually wear black jacket and pants. If you see me give me a hoy, would be good to meet fellow SCUK'ers on the death carpet for a chat/advice.
Cheers. |

According to the website, Glenshee now has full snow cover, so should be brilliant.
I've got a whole days worth of overtime banked at work, so can still get a day off this year - but everyone else is off so I might not manage so late.
I might even manage to go somewhere on Saturday, but I have a night out on Friday, and a Christmas dinner with family in St Andrews on Sunday.
I want to go back!! My wife is moaning about my gear hanging up everywhere drying off! |

p3eps get yourself riding with some advanced guys and your skills will improve no end bud. thats by far the best way to improve. riding with lesser riders will just hold you back im afraid, it would be much slower progress. |

I know what you're saying. The problem is that the few mates I have who actually board were dragged into it by me - so are at an even lower level than I am!
I spend most of my time stopping half way down and waiting for them to catch up.
I'm off to Banff for 2 weeks in Feb with my wife - which will be me following her about for most of the time as she's a bit less confident. She usually stops around 2-3pm and I get a couple of hours on my own - but riding on your own still doesn't push you much.
In an ideal world I'll get a week somewhere in Europe in March / April with a couple of mates... and at least we'll be able to push each other on then. I'm also going to try and take some freestyle lessons at the dry slope at the start of next year - so I'll hopefully get pushed a bit there - and maybe even meet some new folk.
My real problem is that I'm going to be 34 in less than 2 weeks - and being OLD I've lost my bottle! If I was 19 again I'd be throwing myself down the mountain... but I'm too scared I get hurt now!! |
