You would think that helmet only protects when you fall down on the slope or park.
But I am 6'2" and when rushing to squeeze in 4 or 6 seater gondola you just sometime hit your head on top of the door. Without helmet that would give me concussion once a week during the busy season. |

Another one here with a long head and the sandbox EPS ,,, fits great .
I'd rather wear a helmet now than a bib to catch my dribble and food tomorrow |

I'm at the moment doing a write up on the different types of helmets and my struggle to find out which has the best technology. I'll post it up on here when I finish. On an interesting note- i did find that the technology in the red hi-fi this year is something that would definitely be worth having a look at.

This is also true of race helmets , other than F1 drivers and some WTCC AND BTCC drivers , ppl get a lid that fits as best as it can .
As above i have Stand 21 make my race / work lids , as they take several measurements , pics etc , and make the helmet fit me , expensive isnt the word but its my head, my life and more importantly my job .... so its atool of my trade
If you have a 2p head wear a 2p helemt , but more importantly buy one that fits you , not just looks goood cos it has this or that on it
Safe riding guys and gals |

| Little mountain hut at Cas has a good demo of a helmet. Kid bought it, then the week after someone fell off the poma, it swung round and hit him, big dent in the side of the helmet, woulda caused quite a headache if he wasn't wearing it and nothing to do with falling either. |

Tried on loads, kiddies RED with extra padding strips put in fitted ok, only had it for a week and mashed my head on a kicker and then again later on the ice. Helmet destroyed, head still whole. Ice nil - I win! Got a kiddies K2 now which fits nice and I can adjust it at the back to fit my hair in or a thin beanie. I think it's my fourth helmet... the sizes and shapes keep changing so I can't just re-order the one I bought before. Don't really like the venting on my K2 though so will be on the lookout for summat else this season. |

| Went with a Smith when I was buying new kit last year...think it's a vantage or a variant...either way, it fits well, and has a good vent system that also works with their googles....if you have a big head, Smith Optics stuff is well worth a look. |

| Giro Encore is a great fit if you've got a normal, oval head rather than a deviant, rounder one. Why, oh why do they insist on making most helmets for such weird shaped heads! |

I agree with that, had some idiot woman smack me in the head with the edge of her snowboard while waiting in the lift queue... would have needed a few stitches from that one for sure if I hadn't been wearing my lid. |

I had a skier crash into me the first year I wore a lid, one of the skis would have done bad things to my left ear without it. Lucky really, it would have cut through any other part of my body and the only bit it hit was the small armoured bit at the top.
I do get the idea that wearing one can make you more reckless though, I had that very problem when I wore a cycling helmet years ago. Found I was a little detached from the traffic and was making stupid mistakes that I never made without one so I stopped wearing it. On the board though I ride better with lid. |
