I'm at the moment doing a write up on the different types of helmets and my struggle to find out which has the best technology. I'll post it up on here when I finish. On an interesting note- i did find that the technology in the red hi-fi this year is something that would definitely be worth having a look at.

| If you've got a brain worth saving you should wear a lid. The best helmet is the one that fits your head shape properly and has the relevant compliance standard markings. |

not wearing a helmet looks cool ......... until the point where you are lying unconcious on the ground with a fractured skull.
been there, done that ...... will never go out without one again |

| I like that lid. I'm in market for a new one and kp approved is good but friends are better! I use red lids but they only last two year like any helmet (personal thought on lids is £100-140 every 2 years really too much to pay for safety) |

| Its only the best if it fits properly, not all helmets are the same just like peoples heads. To me a red helmet is the worse, because it doesn't fit right, doesn't mean its a bad helmet its just not for me. If it doesn't fit properly it can't do the job you bought it to do. Theres loads of helmets out there, as long as its snow specific and has the CE mark, bought from a reputable dealer its all good. Be warned there are fakes out there including Red. |

I have the red hifi and love it to bits. It's a little thicker than my wife's helmet, but the larger vents help my head from boiling in it and it fits really well, super comfy. Sticks up a little unfortunately.
If someone doesn't wear a helmet cos they're doing really casual stuff and find a helmet uncomfy, I can kinda understand... If they're trying to be cool, they should grow out of BEING a helmet |

ah sorry, should have quoted the guy above in my post. he said he already used red.
and I should have used better words. you are right. I think my head is weird though, as i've never put on a helmet that didn't fit well. |

i have to buy k2 helmets because i have a big head (63cm) they are nice helmets and the customer service when you loose stuff is excellent.
buy a helmet that fits your head and never buy one over the internet, even i strangely dont find it hard to find one that looks good and fits my head |

Well im a beginner and wear a helmet. Rented one this year but i have just bought a RED Mutiny helmet for the next trip in January.
Even when ive got loads of snow time i will still wear one because at some point during the day we venture into the park |

| CE/En 1077 and ASTM F2040. The ASTM testing is more rigorous apparently, so I would go with both!! |
