Just to clarify a few points-KennyG, by no means did I suggest all the drivers were racist..but when you hear people using n***er and other disgusting terms in front of managers without any appropriate reaction forthcoming, then I suggest a company has a fundamental management issue. One returning driver used a term I'd never heard of -that being "unicorns" ( as in non caucasians in snow resorts are as rare as...) When I tried to point out to him that was racist I got the fairly standard " I have black friends.." reply..mmm he just didn't see the sad irony there...though all of my friends and family reacted as I did to the term...as to the vearcity of my comments Kenny-well I have better things to do than make up stories- but was moved to comment on it as it was so shocking to me and others.

As to maintenance of vehicles..well that's something any airline, taxi or other company has a duty to uphold so that we as passengers do not have to check the safety of any vehicle ourselves be it train ,plane or automobile.( because that is ludicrous obviously). My problem was having my daily sheets either ignored or indeed argued about when pointing out problems- until I plain refused to drive my van until it was sorted. I saw way too many serious accidents on those roads for me to be comfy about it as a driver or a passenger.

And Stuie I agree that it is often the decent drivers covering up for the shortcomings of many companies that deserve tips-the culture of exploitation in resorts is rife and again sadly depressing, and if we all just accept it then it will always be that way. (Tories excluded I guess..) Tips make a huge difference to drivers who are often paid as little as a company can get away with while putting in 15 hour shifts..and throw in some respect for a good driver too, as that is free..(for all you non tippers)

As a final note I'd choose a company who at least invest in a local office as a contact point...something which I understand the Express no longer has in Morzine. I spent most of last season hearing complaints about the company and this season it seems that there isn't even a local office to refer them to!! Mind you I warned all passengers about complaing too much-and certainly not to Trip Advisor or the like- as the response is often dismissive or indeed quite aggressive imho..check Trip Advisor for this seasons brave souls..good luck to them and their complaints..

As I said in an earlier post, choose your transfer company wisely, as I personally like to start and end my trips well....and make sure you have a great holiday..
