Just incase anyone's planning to drive a long distance for some Scottish lift served boarding this weekend Glencoe will not be open today (keep checking the usual sources for Sat/Sun) as planned and Nevis will not open at all this weekend!
Glencoe statment:
DUE TO STORM FORCE WINDS AND DAMAGE WILL WILL NOT BE OPEN TOMORROW (FRIDAY) RE ASSESS TOMORROW FOR THE WEEKEND
Nevis statment:
Plans to open early for skiing this weekend Sat 10 and Sun 11 Dec have now been put back due to today?s storm damage. Lifts have been derailed and we have been unable to access the hill today in preparation for the weekend and the extra maintenance now required will take a lot longer than we had planned. The good news is more snow is forecast immediately after the storm and into the coming week so the following weekend, when we are scheduled to open could be good! We are still in our 'winter maintenance' period. The gondola will open fully for winter on Sat 17 December. We will also open for snowsports on Saturday 17 December, wind and snow conditions permitting.
Just a heads up! |

| I believe Cairngorm will be opening a limited amount at a reduced ticket price on Saturday & Sunday (that's if all the snow didn't blow away yesterday!) and Glenshee looks to be opening as well (I'm hoping to head to Glenshee on Sunday), though they have not yet said what's opening. |

This was posted on Coes facebook earlier,
Sorry for the lack of updates today. With no power, no land line and no mobile signal it has been impossible to update. I will post a full report later but wanted to let you know that we still have no power and lots of storm recovery work to do so will not open tomorrow (Sat). We are targetting being open on Sunday.
Also the A82 north of the Corran ferry is shut for the weekend due to unsafe rock removal. |

most recent update from the Coe, quite exciting but at the same time annoying for everyone who planned this weekend ( hopefully sunday fingers crossed)
"Glencoe Update -friday 9th December
This is a bit of a good news bad news update.
The good news is that we reckon we have more snow than at any point last season. Enough snow in fact that the skidoo driver couldn't get up the Poma uptrack without banging his head on the cable.
The bad news is that we suffered extensive storm damage on Thursday.
The tally of damage is as follows:-
- The shed (Chizzy's shed) at the bottom of the access chair which houses the main control panel for the chair was completely destroyed.
- The shed at the bottom of the Poma was also blown away.
- The Cliffy drive station roof has also dissapeared.
- and we have had a number of derailments.
Compounding all this we still have no power in the valley so have been working by generator and flashlight.
The staff have worked flat out all day to get a new cabin in place and re-wire the control panel at the bottom of the access chair and at around 8pm this evening we got the chair running again.
The plan for tomorrow is to safety test the access chair, sort out the derailments, build a new Poma shed and rewire it's control panel.
If we get the power back on and can complete this work we plan to open on Sunday for summit to carpark skiing.
We will provide a further update tomorrow evening.
Thanks for your patience.
See you on the hill soon
Andy
P.S Ski patrol will be able to access the hill tomorrow to provide a full run report.
Thanks from
The Team at Glencoe Mountain |

| hoping it opens on sunday as this sounds promising "We have had significant snow over the last week. There is more snow on the mountain than anytime last season and in places the Plateau Poma rope is at head height!" |
