| I remember seeing the precursor to blades when I was about 10 (around 1990) - Big Foot skis. Anyone ever tried them?? |

Remember one of my friends trading in his skis for a set of blades in Val Thorens in April, just before a massive dump! Visibility was shocking but all you could hear is his screams of frustration! To this day he maintains it's his worse day on a hill.
Torstein sums them up pretty well,

Stimulates a funny discussion though, especially the outing of CJKit as a blading lover. Worse than riding flows |

| For full disclosure I'd better say that I once had a go on them in Austria for a day (when I was still a skier, so this would be about 12 years ago). I kept crashing and felt like an idiot. |

I watched a guy fall on his last days of the season in Le Plange, spectacular!
The left one pretty much wedged itself entirely in his anus.
So if you're into that sort of thing...they might be a special treat |

I'll hold my hand up to having tried Big Feet when I was about 9 years old. They were mad fun then. Bear in mind I hadn't even seen a snowboard at this point.
That video is possibly the most offensive thing I've seen all week. |

How can you not want to have a go on blades after watching snowhawk's link?
Seriously though. Next time I'm out in a group, blades are definitely going to be on the agenda. It's worth it for the laughs alone. |

When I first became aware of the awesomeness of winter sports I began to learn on blades - my mate advised me that instead of going straight onto skis I should learn on blades first. So for 2 whole days of my life I used bladed. I'm ashamed.
But that aside, it was a great way to learn to ski bearing in mind I've never done anything like that before in my life! |

Just joined the 'tea on laptop' club - made funnier by the fact that my brother in law blades, and is gay. |
