Don't be put off Norquay. It has some excellent riding when there has been some fresh snow. Good steep runs and very quiet. We have been to Banff the last three years and I have always enjoyed a tip up there on a Saturday when Sunshine and Louise are likely to be v busy. However, given the fact that it is small and you are only there for 6 days, then you will probably want to keep on discovering what the other two has to offer.

Agree with the other poster regarding food! So much to choose from and all restaurants tend to be about the same price-wise!

We aren't going this year, having to stick to Europe. Enjoy!!

I'll be out there from the 14 Jan till the 25th. I'm an intermediate rider if that helps. Can't wait to get out there, if you want to meet up, shoot me a PM.

Me and 3 mates are looking to do an end of season trip to Banff.

Had a look on www.skibig3.com and can't believe it's $611 CAN/£360 for a 7 in 9 day lift pass for April 19-27th.

Does anyone have any info on getting cheaper passes (if they exist)?

I'd say look at riding Sunshine (20 mins away) the most with a few trips to Lake Louise (40 mins away on the bus) forget Norquay to be honest. Although there is one good run there called 'The North American Chair'.

Not sure if it makes it cheaper just going to Sunshine but I think they do an afternoon ticket too.

This'll be our 3rd time to Banff and we split the week 50/50 between Sunshine and LL (Norquay's been closed the previous 2 times).

Last time was April '08 and the lift pass was £250. We've always got the earliest bus to the hills.
