Is that not similar to most "prestige" products though? BMW, Audi, Apple, Armani etc etc are all "affordable" but they are elitist in the sense that you can only buy them if you have the couple of extra quid in your pocket. The biggest reason why they aren't elitist is that people who can't afford them find a way to buy them (loans, don't feed their 15 kids, or in the case of BMW owners, sell drugs.), thus reducing the perceived elitism!
The Iphone is still a £500 phone so surely that price tag makes it a "prestige" product (i.e. there are phones that can do the same for a lot less) as the majority of the population can't afford it? I mean My first 3 cars cost less than that!
I'm also in the same predicament. The iphone 4s strikes me as an interim to the 5 still and the s2 is soon to be superceeded. Both are a lot of money for a bit of kit that will be replaced relatively soon. |

fair comment on the ccd but I'll miss the real flash
plus the 12.1 meg cam allows ya to do 9meg wide to on the satio which is nice
it feels more like a digital camera with phone capability added  |

| trouble is there isn't any release dates yet for the new versions could probably wait till feb but not much longer. |

| If you haven't purchased yet, you should check out the Arc S. I was initially looking at getting the Galaxy Nexus or S2 but after checking them out thought they were just too big and bulky. Then I stumbled upon the Arc S. Nice big screen nearly as big as the S2 but much smaller and smarter body. ICS apparently coming in 2012 for it. |
