Hey Metal_snapper
Last year here in Whistler in feb it snowed all the time and I enjoyed the best conditions I've ever ridden either here in Whistler, Europe and New Zealand. It tends to be a dryer month and colder but not "icy". Last year was effected by a weather cycle called La Nina which brings lots of snow and we are expected to have the same system this year.

So if you are here while it snows because of the cold it will be quality pow.

I was in Banff back in January too, in my opinion, save your money up, then book late. We got a room in the Banff Inn and return flights with Transfer, £629 for 11 nights. There are always last minute deals available, so don't waste money on a full price brochure deal. Lift pass for the Big 3 was around £300 for the duration, and eating out each night(Pretty much no chalet board in Canada) was around $50 inc wine, for breakfast we either hit subway, McD's or waited til we got to Lake Louise and bought a breakfast Burrito for $3( enough to share, or cut in two and save half for lunch)
