my wife is currently applying to do her TDA (although Primary School)
our region covers the tuition costs, finds her a position and pay's a basic salary for the year, however next door county.. you have to find your own position and then apply..
it seems different across all the regions, so worth looking at your neighboring county
they all seemed very focused on 'having already worked with kids' which is a good thing...as from my school experience teachers all hated kids!! |

Then she's doing a GTP not a PGCE maybe?
Most teachers in my school hate the kids. Though tbh I work in Luton... |

| I'm quite interested in doing a teaching post grad. My degree is one of those that everyone thinks is a joke though so I definitely won't be getting any funding and if I want to teach Tourism - the main Uni I can do that in is Luton uni, the one I moved 350 miles away from. |

All I can say in whole hearted honesty is dont do it........
the constant monitoring,
the appauling attitude and behaviour of the majority of kids - sorry but its true,
ofsted,
pressure to get exam results,
its not a secure job like everyone makes out - academies are becoming the norm, exam results are key, school budgets are being slashed every year......
I know the PGCE student we had last yr still doesnt have a job...... |
