Theres a big market for an instrument that can raise the dead

i bought myself a creamy-white les paul, with the black outline and all gold hardware as a treat for working so much (ha!) - its like 20 years old and i got it for an amazing price. Its a true beaut
Ah, the ultimate punk guitar. Gibson or a copy? The Epiphone copies are pretty nice though. It's on my list of 'must have' guitars, along with a Gretsch White Falcon, natural wood Telecaster and the Rickenbacker 330 (black). Got the Gretsch, 1 down 3 to go.
As others have said, there's a lot more to a good guitar than the sum of its parts, although you never know. Brian May & his dad didn't do a bad job! |

Don't tell anyone, but I prefer playing my Vintage Strat copy with the Wilkinson hardware. Maybe coz it was so 'kin expensive! They do say they're in investment though, that's why it lives in its case & not on the wall. |

Ill happily take pictures of mine when it arrives, starting to get super excited now! haha
I think ill just get a marshall-mini-stack - like the one Jack Black had on his pocket in school of rock, but there are two of them - ive had the single stack in the past it and it was a laugh |

| Don't ever buy the mini orange stack from Argos. I had three of them.1 replacement after another. Wouldn't even turn on. |

I have a Les Paul Nighshade i bought over here now, and a custom flame top back in England i think i have close to 10 guitars probaly worth well of 7K. I have a problem yes.
As for the original idea, i would say don't do it ! Unless your a very skilled craftsman and know a sh1t load about how to make the instruments and know people of note willing to rep them, you doubt it would ever be worth your while. And judging by your follow up post about the sound quality being in the pickups - i'm tending to say you don't have the knowledge needed ( sorry if that sounds rude ).
The body and its connection to the neck ( i,e bolt on straight thru etc ) effective both tone and sustain of the instrument, Then you have the alignment of the neck to the bridge which affects the action of the guitar, and finally you have the overall balance of the body a poor balance makes the instrument very hard to play for any length of time. I would assume you were considering buying the 'necks' in for the projects, as make a good neck is near impossible without considerable expertise and equipment. |
