Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any groups based in the UK that look at snowboarding and other boards sports as a way of raising awareness for certain illnesses ?????

I know there is Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) but I think thats mostly based in the states, and I know there are one off events run to promote illnesses but i dont know of any others

Compete in specialist charity events to raise money. I think one of the more popular ones is the Everest Challenge.
Are you looking to do something this season? Give me a shout i would be up for it too, I was planning to do an event up at glencoe last season but i couldn't setup sponsorships in time to enter so i was : ( .

I saw this last year http://www.mstrust.org.uk/fundraising/e ... onsterski/
and it looks like they're doing it again this year. Might be worth a nosey

I'd love to do it but unfortunately I have far too many tight wad mates and family Sad

This year there is an event in Cardiff called Have ago Help a Bro. It's linked with Movember and is raising money for The Prostate Cancer Charity and The Institute of Cancer Research. Have a look!

If you want to get more directly involved with a charity, why not have a look at the work Disability Snowsport UK do...

Theres Snow Camp Rally....

"A 3day race, with the aim of riding as many of the UK's 43 dry and indoor slopes. WHY-to raise money for snow-camp, a charity that takes disadvantaged inner-city young people to the mountains, to learn to board or ski and teach them life skills to help them on their return."
