Think the alcohol I'd consumed the evening I broke it helped numb the initial pain for me! Only time it hurt was when I wobbled getting out the shower and put all my weight on it about 2 weeks after the break and when I tried to walk to the door to get to the docs originally (I think I may have still been a little intoxicated, but it was my birthday...)
You should be fine for a mid/late season holiday so you may not be restricted to just the domes. |

P.s I forgot to mention it was a broken fib in the end not the tib which in alot Of ways I'm relieved about, bearing in mind the fib only carries 10% of the body weight. But I've hit boarding an motocross on the head for the next few months. Casts off in 2 weeks doc said I should be driving again in 3... Although it still aches for obvious reasons it's a lot less painful than it was and im only
Taking painkillers when I've had enough of the aching .. |

i know exactly how you feel dude, i booked my trip away to Tignes back in Aug, a week later broke my ankle playing football. Spent 6 weeks in a pot, where i was non weightbearing, then went back into another pot for 4 weeks, which i could walk on.
Now had 4 weeks of intenstive physio, and im right as rain.
The muscle is still not as strong as my "good" leg, but i fly this saturday for a week boarding.
In all honesty, everyone heals differently. Im a 20 a day smoker, to which the first constultant told me i must stop, i took no notice of this, arrived in 2 weeks later and to the surprise of the consultant, i had healed rediculously fast. He then told me not to stop smoking, as the withdrawal from my body may hinder my healing process!
Its swings and roundabouts, but i really hope you mend fast, and can get back out there for part of this season.
All the best dude, and good luck! |

| Cheers mate, how bad was your break? Obviously I wish it never happened but when I found out it was broken I was also in a way glad it was the fib and not the tib |

Yea, mine was the fib too, i essentially broke the inner edge off, meaning there was no support for my foot in the ankle joint, so if i walked my foot would rise up and grind.
Just rest plenty until they start you on physio, and remember to take it easy at first, gradually building up your excercise routine. |
