Anyone else get this:
Downhill - no mither.
Stop and look uphill - palms get sweaty and you fall into the slopeface, looking for something to grab on to, as you feel like you're about to tumble backwards.
Just me then? |

| Less booze the night before.... |

| I'm the opposite. Standing looking uphill no problem but some times lose my nerve looking downhill as I have visions of overbalancing and plummeting down the slope on my face! I switched to boarding because I had so much trouble skiing with the whole idea of putting my weight on the downhill ski and having to lean away from the relative safety of the slope itself. |

| Think less about what you are doing and just do it. I only get nervous if I think about what I am doing, if you just do it there is no chance to get nervous. |

It's not nerves, it's psychological. I go faint at the sight of blood and have no idea why as I'm not squeamish. I also get altitude sickness (headaches whenever I hit resort for the first day) and dizzy at the top of the Aguille de Midi. Just the way you're made I guess.
Google might know more about what you can practically do to counter the effects perhaps. |
