That's some power, not so keen on the look of it, but sounds like it goes like the clappers.

Sounds like you get some awesome stuff to do Smile What do you do?, race instructor?, I run a trackday car club, currently without car since I sold my 1991 R32 GTR and now toying with turning a MKII 16v golf into a track weapon.

Been looking through the window of the local HPC at the GTR's, the early ones are actually becoming quite affordable now, one debate on GTR.co.uk is do you bring your old car upto the spec of the 2011 or accept the massive loss on the early car and pay the 30k difference to get the new!.

A mate of mine builds sprint cars / track cars for customers and currently runs a 850Bhp Evo and even he was amazed at the road going GTR.

Thought I might as well plug APT's evo Smile - First clip is the APT evo on low boost so only running about 800 .. that's me on the left with the weird helmet sticker Smile (I do lend my helmet to some else later).. followed by the white Evo 8 he built for Logan (just won the sprint series on MLR) running a more mild 650 or so.

I looked at the GT-R before buying my current car. They're very nice cars and a little 'Gran Turismo' inside. The MY 2012 does look quick. Maybe if the Audi R4 is not released in a few years I'll trade in for one.

Friends who have bought the GTR have put me off - the cost of tyres, the gearbox woes (although this is supposed to be addressed with the MY2012) Litchfields pulled apart the new box and said it was the same as the old box though ? ... the other major concerns being the 'big brother' part of the car informs nissan that you've done a track day .. but most of the all the silly pedestrian system that once activated by hitting a kerb causes 11 grands worth of damage (according to the nissan forums)

Bizarrely on Forza 4 it's actually a really terrible car to drive .. where as the older skyline models are great.

Sounds expensive to run. My tires are £200 each, but my s-tronic gearbox is covered under the warranty, as is any other mechanical failure so I don't have those woes, fortunately.

Are these the MLR days?
I've got an fq300 that Gary at APT services/ tunes for me. Small world!
I actually quite like the look of the GTR - although I couldn't say Evo's are the prettiest car.

Gary / Danny are the only people I trust when it comes to building and maintaining any of my cars, Gary built up my GTR over a 5 year period.

Opentracks is open to all car clubs ... just a case of booking up front on Dave's website. Good value compared to lots of other companies.

In the past I've rented snetterton for my club (www.bigpower.co.uk) however it was always a bit scary at the last minute not having sold enough slots to make it viable, then having a last minute manic sell fest so thankfully covering it.

Since I sold the GTR (9 to 12mpg was getting expensive) I'm toying with an Evo especially as I know I can have it worked on by APT. I love what they've done to their car plus Logan's Sprint winning machine, so maybe a 7 / 8 is on the cards.

You norwich based?.
