I've just seen chill factory's November offers. The unlimited pass has been withdrawn and replaced with an off peak only pass for £60.
I know there has been much said on this board about the poor approach chill factore has towards it's regulars but this is incredible.
A good friendly scene of regulars has built up over the past few months that this move will see killed off which is a real shame
Chill and all the stores inside just lost a regular [/list] |

I notice its been kicking off on their facebook page.
Dave is particularly narked and knowing how often he goes I'm not surprised.
It was always going to be hard to keep it going through silly season though and I am surprised it made it to Oct. |

I'm also amazed it lasted as long as it did. There was no way they could keep it up with the season almost upon us...
(As an aside, I went the other night and must have missed the "good friendly scene". As a lone snowboarder, I find Chill Factor e really unfriendly compared to Milton Keynes and Hemel, but maybe that's just me...) |

Really,
I talk to any lone snowboarder when I'm in (Unless they've got a grump on). I've met loads of people and even been on holiday with people I've met in there. |

silly silly CFe
With the way they were originally advertising the unlimited pass as £100/month but discounted in summer I thought the unlimited would be that, unlimited and £100 during winter. |

September and October have both been very busy on weekends, although you and I will never know how many of the visiters had unlimited passes.......
I'll miss the unlimited pass, as will many, but lets just hope it comes again next summer!! |

Following on from the customer surveys and the options that were given I was at least expecting *something* instead of nothing - there has to be a price that a full unlimited pass would have been a possibility, from going numerous times a week I will now be going maybe once every 10 days - two weeks, which i'm sure wont bother them in the slightest but times that by the number of other people who will be frequenting even less now then thats a hell of a lot less heads through the door your have.
Sure its been a great deal and beneficial all summer, but it could have continued in some capacity through the winter.
The off peak pass if completely useless unless your a student or have no job, in which case you'll have better things to spend your £60 on.
The decision to have no freestyle this week because of half term is another poor decision imho, they could at least have had it last week to make up for it but thats another thread.topic |

also not pleased with the offer, i mean an unlimited off peak pass rules out anyone with a proper job...
on another note, i went today and it was awful, i got 10 runs in in the 2 hours slot. i spent the rest of the time in the lift queue. it wasn't like the whole slope was rammed but just the stupid number of learners/kids taking ages, if they had stair i would bloody use it. |

Theres also been a heck of a lot of groupon users as well this last couple of months as well with a 1hr pass offer or something but the vast majority (read virtually all) people through the turnstiles in front of me it always displayed some form of unlimited lift pass.
Without being 'negative' or 'hating' on chill, I did post quite near to the start of the unlimited offers that this wasn't an exercise in 'looking after the regulars' and cfe 'listening' to their customer base, but just an means to see them through a barren summer of discontent where otherwise you would have counted on one hand the riders on the slope at peak times.
I hope, as they say they are going to do listen to feedback going into november and come up with *something* that makes regular riding more affordable for the masses. Winter/season time does get busier but I dont remember last winter being anywhere close to as busy as the place has been since may/june time this year, and there *has been a very good atmosphere that had been built up agin |

I've been watching this thread and the corresponding one where Dave is venting his spleen on Facebook and who can blame him ?
The unlimited pass has been amazing - and really, could we honestly expect to ride for £40 all month ?
What I did expect though was, as everyone says .... SOMETHING!
What about the loyalty scheme people have mentioned ? Its all electronic, so they can see who has bought the unlimited Summer passes or unlimited monthly passes EVERY month!
Offer these people who have put their hands in their pockets over the off season period the unlimited pass - even stagger the costings so you get more discount based on the number of months you've ridden over summer - BUT PLEASE DO SOMETHING!
I'm one of the unlucky (or lucky I suppose!?!) people with said proper jobs, so cant hit the slope outside of peak times without taking time off work .... I can only do that so many times a year !!!
Come on CFe - Youve built up a lot of support on here over the past months (to the level of outright war!) - lets see these suggestions as great customer feedback and see if you can offer us something over the season as well! |

| why is the winter the main season for domes anyway? surely the dedicated will mostly head out to a mountain as much as possible or do a season or somethin. CFE should do with the tubing its pointless the run isn't long enough and also the beginner section i agree should be used on park nights for a mini park, The tubing could also be a quarter pipe, infact they should just extend the whole side so it reaches the same point as the top of the main slope, there obviously rakin it in since they don't need regulars it would actually be an exciting reason to go again. |

You've answered your own question. They're raking it in as it is so why would they change anything...they're a business?
Winter is the main season for domes because thats when people start going to practice and have lessons in preperation for their holiday. Very few people are interested in riding or skiing all year. |

I met people in MK when it was my local who I am still friends with and have been away with, but I've not met anyone in 5 years of riding at Chill Factor e, either alone or with ex-OH. Very odd.
Back on topic, the unlimited anytime pass was great and I for one was very surprised by it as it's something that the others domes either tried early on and discarded, or never even tried. However, the other domes haven't needed it to create a good, friendly atmosphere so why does Chill Factor e? Too expensive otherwise? I don't know - I know someone has compared prices previously... |
