Hi everyone,
Just joined the forum, I'm off to Tignes in December as my first trip abroad. Any advice or info would be cool.
Pretty much all set, got all my gear, but is there anything not so obvious I may of forgotten?
Also if anyone has any info on Tignes itself, good bars etc! Haha, then that would be cool.
Cheers, Dan |

When you going and where you staying? Each of the villages of Tignes (Le Lac, Val Claret, etc) has its own attractions and local faves.
I suppose you could look at http://www.tignes.net/en to get an initial idea, or skip straight to http://www.tignes.net/en/nightlife-in-tignes-45.html for info on bars, etc.
I've only ever stayed in Le Lac before (at Dragon Lodge), so our locals were The Loop Bar (good food (great burgers) and drinks) and Tignes Cuisine (next door to the Loop) does great noodles for lunch and a take-away/delivery service (handy for the Chalet staff night off) in the evenings (and does a fairly decent curry).
And if you want to stay out till the early hours then Jacks nightclub can get pretty lively. |

look out for Tignes cuisine for great cheap food, also the loop bar in Le Lac,
remember a lock, not just for security, but to stop your board getting wiped out when some stupid skier knocks everyones stuff over whilst trying to get their ski`s |

I popped a lock in by bag last night, really don't fancy letting my board go for a walk with a stranger.
I'm staying in Le Lac, in a place called Chalet Lavachey. All the online reviews looked really good and we got a decent deal. Only issue we may have its a little early in the year. We go on December 3rd for a week.
Cheers for the advice so far, if anyone else has any good info, shout up.
Cheers Dan |

Hi fella,
Tignes is awesome first off, I went there for my first snowboarding trip and it was amazing! I'd agree with the Loop. Top bar/friendly staff and is right next to the rookie slope (dependant on how your progressing/how confident you feel on the snow and thats at the bottom of a great few runs also haha)
Thought the Dragon Lodge was ok, but if i'm being honest (and I'll probably see people disagree with me on this) but I didn't get what all the fuss was about, it was good but I still thought the Loop was better.
As a great first run get yourself up the Corniche lift and ride the Bruyeres blue down. That was my first run in a mountain and it was amazing. Such a shame i was so s%@t haha |

We didnt stay at the Lodge which is probably why i'm seing it different we just went to the bar for a few drinks one night we were there. I'm not taking anything away from the place as I say I thought it was good.

I've just spent the last 5 mins looking at a resort map but honestly I can't remember (damn you free wine with dinner!) I'm mostly certain i remember it was in the Le Lac - Le Rosset area, I remember the place having a giant dog, a little bar and an open fire (probably doesn't help much)
I'll just have to go again and find it haha |
