Been thinking about giving it ago while out in Whistler this winter so wondering what people know about it or think about it.

Horrific.

I've tried it, its brutal. Pukers every session if you push yourself hard enough.

A few mates swear by it and they are in great shape, ripped and effective muscles, not just water weight show offs.

Sounds good to me.

I wasn't sure what you guys were on about so i just googled it. Feck that for a game of darts. If i wanted to be simultaneously drained of all my hard earned cash while someone beat the living bejesus out of me, well frankly i'd just go stand outside the spar at 11pm and wait for the local young folk to oblige.

Heres a video idea. Some of the ring stuff is just showing off.

A lot of the ones we did were tailored for rugby fitness. Lots of shoulder work and core combined with short explosive shuttles and getting up/down off the ground. Handstand press ups straight into 6x30m sprints with a lay down start got me. I threw up hard.

Did an American invent that?? Looks like you have to be a real 'Yeah! Come one! Let's have it' sort of a person. Don't think I can actually do anything that was in that clip Surprised
Looks effective tho.

I've been doing it for a year Lez... I really enjoy it... sounds really cheesy but the community aspect is really good and I haven't found better phys for preparing the body for everyday stuff as well as sport. And I'm definitely in the best shape of my life. Make sure you go and get some instruction though... a reasonably accurate matra is that "Crossfit will push you to your limits... or until you are injured"... there is a lot of olympic lifting and if done tired and with poor form you can really hurt yourself... make sure your deadlifts, cleans and squats are with good form... and forget about snatches. One of my mates from home sums it up pretty well... it's just posh circuits! (but with science backing the exercises).

Pull-ups, body weight squats and hand release push ups will become your friends. I can now smash quite a few muscle-ups (youtube those) out but the best part is how everyone is very friendly and helpful. You won't look at a gym in the same way again. (and the chicks are all pretty hot too!).

If they start talking about Paleo diet I'd ignore them... it's a bit serious and extreme for my liking, just high protein, low carb and try and eat fresh food is the secret.

Message me on FB if you want anymore info on it.
