Just wondering what socks people wear when riding.
I've always had quite thick snowboard specific ones but I think this might be having an impact on how my boots fit and their comfort in general, so I'm looking for some newer ones that aren't quite so thick.
I've seen a few on the TSA, S+R and other sites that are padded where you need them and thinner in other areas, but the the trouble is that it seems over the last couple of years all the manufacturers are moving away from synthetics and using more and more wool.
BUT I can't wear wool next to my skin as it makes me itch like mad. So, I was hoping someone could recommend some good wool-free snowboard specific socks. |

Have you tried merino wool. Feels like cotton, but without the draw backs.
Very comfy, not itchy at all, and I wear it as full baselayer-socks leggings and longsleeve top. |

Yeah, I can't wear Merino either.
I tried an Icebreaker baselayer shirt on last season and had to take it off immediately! Could feel it prickling all over my back.
Think I'm actually allergic to wool. |

From the 32 website:
Socks are 55% rayon derived from bamboo / 35% cotton / 8% nylon / 2% spandex.
I am wearing bamboo on my feet when snowboarding! |

| I have the same issue, many cardigan my nan used to knit for me went to waste so I feel your pain, just the mere thought of putting a woolen top over my head makes me shiver. I have some socks just got "Smart Wool" written on them, I am always reluctant to put them on as they are woolen, but I don't know if its just the top half of my body that can't stand wool or if I'm just a bit odd, but they don't irritate at all. |

| I'm not Welsh. I prefer the subjects of my affections to be a little less hairy and I don't think there are any sheep in North London anyway. |

I might try on a pair of Smartwool ones and see if I'm as odd as you are |

Although smartwool is derived from Merino wool, it is treated to (allegedly) make it hypoallergenic.
