Hey guys,

Wanted to know what everyones thoughts were on Binding Angles and stances. I have been chopping and changing my angles for a few weeks now (Currently doing a season in Queenstown) and havent really decided what I think is best. I am an all-mountain rider who delves into the park from time to time, started out with a forward stance (+15 0) but have been trying out duck angles recently (+15, -15, + 15, -9). Does anyone have any advice on what is the best angle to use as I cant really decide!. Also is it best to setback your bindings and increase the distance between both bindings to get more flexibility on the board? i.e be able to ride on the tail a bit more + spins, buttering and landing jumps etc (I am quite tall so thought this might be a good idea)

Any advice/comments would be appreciated!!

Gareth

No hard and fast rules from what I know, but I'm no expert. All I did was play around until I found what was comfy.

I ride +12 and -12 duck footed, stance width is wide...about 25 inches I think but couldn't tell you without measuring. Is just what suits me.

As for highback lean, the more you put on the more responsive your heel edge is to movement. For park I'd run it at no lean, and to be fair I do for all my riding but did used to play about and found I quite enjoyed 1 or 2 notches on the front binding when charging about. Also, at that time, made me bend my front knee more and get my weight over it better. But again, it's all down to personal preference

Thanks for the advice docw, changed the setup to +12 - 12 yesterday and I have to say it was very comfortable. It wasn't to extreme (+15 -15 felt a bit weird sometimes) and felt stable when I was landing jumps. It also improved my switch riding which is something I have been working on.

Cheers

Gareth
