Anyone else watch dragons den? Watching this eve there was a very short clip of some snowboarding thing, on what looks like 'carpet'... Anyone else see it?

I'm just intrigued and am wondering what it was as the pitch wasn't shown... Smile

Episode 6 or 5 of this latest series had a pitch for a new artificial snowboarding surface. Had some female boarder who won some medals demoing it but I forget her name.

Sounded interesting but they didn't get any investment from the dragons, though.

once of those things that looks like a nice idea but just not worth it one bit! I'm imagine that if outdoor dry slopes are going to invest that it'll be to change it to an indoor slope with "real" snow

I would imagine the investment in some new styled dendix might be less than building a whole new indoor slope... and far less impact on the old environment.

Its called ProSlope and its designed to attach to the current mounts of dendix - so pretty smart as everything is about 'cutting costs' - far cheaper than snowflex too.

Its currently being installed at Snowtrax in christchurch (near me) so ill head down when they re-open and do a little review for you guys Wink

Oh yeh, without a doubt I agree with you, I'm just saying that I'd imagine they'd rather invest a lot and be able to compete with the likes of MK and Hemel than just go with something like the new dryslope stuff

I like being outside... I for one would cherish a sick outdoor slope that wasn't £30 to ride. the dry slopes I have been to are usually about £6 to ride all day and some even have permanent fixtures, have you ridden much dry vicks? its serious fun Wink

yeah agree Andy... i much prefer dryslope to a dome..

most dryslopes could never change to indoor, usually because of the location (protected land) or the cost.... and really how many domes do we need??

the one in Weston Super-mare means the UK is pretty tied up except maybe a newquay one...

One in southampton please Smile. a 2 hour drive to the nearest one is a bit of a pain.

Shame xScape did not go through with the plot they had planning approved for.

So true, this city NEEDS a dome. Calshot, the alpine centre and snowtrax can all sod off, just give us a dome!!!
