What software do you edit with?
I was hoping to edit using iMovie on my ipad 2 but it doesn't appear to recognise the file. Any help or advise would be welcomed. |

| You cannot edit GoPro footage on an iPad, you have to do it in iMovie on the mac, since the import converts the file to the correct format/rate etc. |

| Oh, Unfortunately I don't have a Mac, so can you recommend me some software I can use on PC? oh, and good conversion software if I need it. |

Have a read of this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/27 ... p;tstart=0
Interesting to read from the start, but there are more workable solutions on the last couple of pages (3/4 of 4 pages), and a link to a youTube video of a possible solution which looks quite good (though I don't know if the Splice software costs anything?!?)
Edit: just looked on the App store - there's two versions of Splice - one's free and the other costs £2.49 though I've not idea which is the better to use. I guess download the free one first and see if it works... |

I doubt a fondle-slab would have the poke you'd need to do much video editing.
On a PC... well there's a lot of free software out there - google for it.
Stuff I know about... Premiere Pro deals with GoPro video the same as anything else. Windows Media Player, QuickTime, or VLC will play it no trouble. If you do need to convert formats, Adobe will do it, or there's MPEG Streamclip which is free and will convert most things to most other things. |

Ewwwww. Vegas is my weapon of choice, I tried to move to Premiere Pro so I could utilise After Effects but it was just way too complex for me get to grips with and made everything take 100x longer to do.
But I now want an iMac, so iMovie and at somepoint Final Cut Pro. |

| Another option would be Adobe Premiere Elements - it's a cut down version of the professional version (Premiere Pro) and is very well regarded for consumer editing. It's also a user interface that's worth getting used to as the knowledge can be upgraded to Pro |

Windows Live Movie Maker handles the files, is simple but basic, my fairly basic laptop took ages to import 32 GB's of GoPro footage, but once done is fine! |
