how badly messed up is your ac joint? I did mine in when in whistler and couldn't lift my arm up above shoulder height for about a year after coming back to UK. Once I saw the physio though, he did a load of electromagmetic stuff then some acupuncture and now its fine, although my shoulder is now a little lumpy! The first day he stuck needles in me was the first day I could lift my arm up fully in over a year!
