So I'm freshly married, and along with me, my wife now has an Xbox that comes free with me!
Unfortunately my game collection consists of racing (Forza, Dirt 2, Touring Cars etc), killing (Call of Duty), a combination of the 2 (Grand Theft Auto IV, Liberty City Stories), and sports (Cricket, FIFA Football, Table Tennis), none of which featrure highly on my other half's wanted list!
I've got LA Noire which being sort of crime based is almost the right sort of thing, but still a bit drivey, shooty and gory!
So my question - any games that you can recommend that would be more suited to a lady's tastes. I've got Sega arcade collection and mentioned Sonic, and she said that could be alright. I know she likes Dr Layton or whatever they're called on the Nintendo DS as well.
Are there any Xbox games that head down that route? |

I completed Call of Duty 4 last summer. That was the first time I'd played on a games console in years, subsequently I've not played any XBox game since
You wanna get something like Super bomberman or something similar.. |

no! computer games are for boys! she shouldn't even be allowed in the same room as it!
do they make barbie games?
In all seriousness, my lady likes the old school games like sonic and mario, which I think you can buy in the market place. |

I've got Sonic 1-3 on the Sega arcade collection thingy. Unfortunately I'm not on Xbox live so can't get access to the marketplace!
I do know what you mean about games though! I guess its mostly to deflect disapproving looks each time I go to turn it on! |

I know what you mean. I've never been in a position to sort that out, although I might be able to soon
How much does it cost? |

The kinect is another "gimmick for girls" bit like the Wii but you can see yourself doing silly stuff and you get a dance game and all that jazz if thats your bag.
Ive got to renew my live which happens automatically and i think gold membership is 40 odd quid for the year. A silver account is free and i thik you can still get things from the marketplace but im not 100% sure on that. Just set up the internet for it and find out. theres lots of puzzley type games on there if thats the kind of thing she likes |

Games are like Yorkies in my opinion......
BUT....Kinect would be the one in my eyes most marketed at the ladies. I know when we have used one that the girls have got involved.....that or any of the rockband, guitar hero franchise or the Lips karaoke style ones..... suppose it depends how girllie she is? |

| You can usually get a 12 month live card for between £25-£30 instead of using the auto renewal at £40. Try one of the big supermarkets or google it. |

They're just married... You can't put her in the shed yet. Perhaps just put her in the kitchen whilst you play? |

One more question re live - can you do it via wi-fi, or do you have to have a lead between your xbox and your modem?
I have literally no idea about tecnology. Took me about 10 attempts to plug my xbox in to my new telly, and the sound still doesn't work
Oh and another question - can you play games with people online for free on xbox live, or do u have to pay for gold membership? |

If you have the new xbox it'll work over WiFi. If it's old you'll need the USB adapter.
If your sound is not working sounds like it is plugged in via the RGB only, with no phono input?
Once you have xbox live (you always have to pay for it), it's then free to play the games. But you have to pay for xbox live. It's like £5 a month or something silly. |
