Some information on flights is available on the WB12 page: www.snowboardclub.co.uk/events-wb12.html but we appreciate flights to Innsbruck are limited and not cheap. Flights to Munich are more flexible and cheaper generally, but do shop around as there's plenty of carriers.

Ideally you should head for Innsbruck for the Air and Style first, but that's an option and you might want to head to Mayrhofen straight away although it's unlikely you'll get any riding in on that first day. The return coach option from the UK is a bargain a £120 as it will bring you to Innsbruck and then on up to Mayrhofen straight after the Air and Style.

Here's some more info direct from Outgoing on making your own way from Munich or Salzberg. If we have enough demand we may be able to lay on additional transfers, so make your plans known!

FROM MUNICH AIRPORT
By Train
• Follow signs to central/zentrum area (blue signs marked Z)
• Upon reaching this shopping area, follow signs to U-bahn / Banhof (underground station)
• Buy a ticket to Munich main train station (Haupt banhof).
• The journey takes 40 mins.
• Upon reaching the main station, buy a ticket for Mayrhofen, via Jenbach. (The final destination of this train will be Innsbruck or Milan). The vast majority of railway staff speak English...
• The journey time to Jenbach is around 90 mins. (This being Germany, the train will leave on time!)
• Upon reaching Jenbach, change trains.
• Get on the red Zillertal-bahn. (There's a separate platform for this service.)
• Trains leave every hour.
• This is the train which goes all the way up the Ziller valley to Mayrhofen...
• The journey time is approx 1 hour.
• Mayrhofen is at the end of the line.

Airport shuttle service
• Follow signs to central / zentrum area (blue signs marked Z).
• Walk past the underground station and follow signs to Burger King...
• You will come to the travel agent section of the airport...
• Directly in front of you there is a desk with a sign which reads
• AIRPORT TRANSFERS/ FOUR SEASONS SHUTTLE SERVICE.
• If you get to a bar on your left called Air Brau, you have walked past this desk.

FROM SALZBERG AIRPORT
By Train
• Take the number 2 bus shuttle to Salzburg main train station (Hauptbanhof)
• Bus number 2 goes at regular intervals between Salzburg main railway station and Salzburg Airport.
• The bus goes every 15 minutes (Sundays and public holidays every 30 minutes).
• Journey time: approx. 20 minutes
• Costs: single ticket 1,80 Euros (children 0,90 Euros)
• Tickets available at bus driver.
• From Salzburg, take a train to Mayrhofen, via Jenbach...
• Upon reaching Jenbach, change trains.
• Get on the red Zillertal-bahn. (There's a separate platform for this service.
• Trains leave every hour...
• This is the train which goes all the way up the Ziller valley to Mayrhofen...
• The journey time is approx 1 hour...
• Mayrhofen is at the end of the line.

I am VERY tempted coming a day early and spending it in Munich ZoidBri. We could sleep in the street.

A transfer from Zurich to Innsbruck for the A&S and then on up to Mahyhofen shouldn't be a problem. Apparently doors open for A&S at 3pm and it's a 90 min transfer from Munich, so make sure you arrive before lunchtime on Saturday and you should be fine.

Stu will find out about the transfer and let people know.

Just had a quick look. Easyjet flights Stansted/Munich on 4th/11th are £70.95 before taxes, luggage, etc. Sounds like a good option to me. Note that there only seems to be this one flight Sat/Sat so book quick before those prices start going up. Two flights Fri or Sun, so if you don't mind find your own accommodation for one night, that's another option.

Didn't look at other routes or carriers, but Easyjet also do Edinburgh, Manchester and Gatwick.

If anyone wants to arrive in Innsbruck a day earlier, then you might fancy checking out the air & style warm up on friday night. Last year they had a rail session and free gig afterwards.

hmm ever so tempting to spend night Munich first, especially since one of my best mates lives there!! Wink.. tho having said that I don't think he's appreciate a load of snowboarders crashing at his place with tons of baggage!!

I'm still thinking coach would be less hassle right now..

Not sure you'll still be thinking that 8 hrs into the journey Wink

Flights from London to Munich for 4-11th are looking around the same price as the coach anyway whichever airline you choose.

How much is the Munich transfer likely to be?

Am well up for going however just wondering if it is mostly groups of mates going or couples? As I am struggling to find anybody to fly with and don't fancy a week being a lemon. If anybody else has this problem let me know? Smile

I'll be on my own, and haven't really ever met any SCUK people in the flesh before, so you won't be the only lemon. And I'm sure there's plenty of others in the same boat.

Not having any mates to go on holiday is what the Bashes are all about.

Stu will find out about transfers, but I can't imagine it would be that much for <2 hours to Innsbruck and then up to Mayrhofen.
