Hey guys,

We're stoked to announce our new 'Tramp2Snow camp', a pioneering new approach to snowsports coaching in the UK from Onyx!

Fusing pro trampoline coaching with on snow freestyle coaching sessions to enhance your riding skills in a whole new way!

So what's it all about?

Being able to visualise and 'feel' a trick is an important aspect in progressing. The trampoline section of the camp helps improve your aerial and body awareness (Proprioception). So whether it's just feeling comfy being in the air for the first time, trying out some different grab, or really starting to understand and effectively use the body parts necessary for good spins and inverts. This section is one of the most beneficial off snow learning tools for freestyle, and now it's available to you.

Then comes the really fun part!

Heading back on to snow where we'll show you how to link your new trampoline skills back onto a board. Our ISIA and ISTD certified team additionally hold bachelor and masters level sport science qualifications, which in short means we know a thing or two about biomechanics and how to make that link work. Using camp specific freestyle features, a max 1:6 coaching ratio and video feedback throughout, we're here to help make you the best you can be wearing the biggest smile possible.

All this for ONLY £89 on our introductory offer!

Good work! The other half wants to come and play, his front flips need to contain slightly less head trauma and slightly less horizontal landings lol so this is pretty much exactly what he needs. And I'm sure my "generic leaving the ground" needs some work Smile How are the sessions going to be structured for levels? They going to be split the same as normal Onyx camps? And is this gonna be a regular thing?

Hey guys,

Thanks for the support on our new course, bookings are coming in thick and fast for the first date in October. If you're keen to attend drop us a line at info@onyxsnowboarding.com to secure your place.

@Amy - Our hope is to make this a regular feature in our UK calendar, trialling at Hemel first and expanding it to our operations at Castleford also. All levels will trampoline together and ability groups will be for the on snow part only. Using the same green, blue and red system we've used since day one Smile so we're pretty confident it will be an awesome camp for you guys. I've seen the photo evidence of Ste's nollie fronts lol, he was actually pretty close so confident he could get it pretty easily Smile

@Jess - Hey Smile how was the summer and are your orthotics still working out good? Thanks for the kind words, would be awesome to ride with you again, hit me up with any dates you have in mind for private lessons or camps and I'll get everything sorted for you Smile

I'm very keen for this but I'm away until mid-November... do you plan on running any towards the end of Nov or in Dec?

So I'm a complete noob to boarding (6 weeks on snow) - Onyx's session is highly recommended, and with a japanese kaizen go-mad attitude (continously improve and go hard), YOU set your own benchmarks. This also means that they geniuenly work *a lot* off feedback, and I've seen this is one of the ethos' that Onyx work off.

Personally I went for 180s both directions. I got good coaching on stance, where to push from, how to land etc. Then we also had some fun with front flips and transfers between trampolines.

I think it's sometimes hard to translate the trampoline feeling on to snow, as you have a board attached. However successive sessions will include boards strapped so that will bring it even closer to what it will feel like.

At the end of the day I got straight cab 180s of a tiny kicker (not just traversing) = good value and money well spent.

Safe to say I'm going on the next one!

Hi fundamental,

At the moment we are concentrating on launching the tramp2snow camp at SNO!zone Castleford over the next month to tie in with our 1 day camps and private lessons already on offer there.

We may look to start talks with CFE regarding provisions in the new year, which would include our full product range. So if you'd like to see Onyx there, drop them an email so they know we have your support Smile

Thanks,
Baden

Hi Fundamental,

Have just replied in your poll section also.

The ability to provide our Tramp2Snow camps at other venues sadly is not governed solely by demand. We enter into agreements which each dome individually and have very strict criteria over what we can offer, when, frequency, level of instructor etc. This helps keep clear divides between the awesome products the indoor facilities already offer and the additional value and range of products that we compliment their service with.

Currently we have no agreement with CFE to operate there so would have to enter into negotiations first and also look as to whether our Tramp2Snow camp would be allowed.

As before, the next launch location will be SNO!zone Castleford as Aidan and the crew have looked after us amazingly so far and we are keen to continue working with them. It may be if you're Manchester based that you can grab a ride with someone else coming from that area over to the Cas camps Smile

Thanks again for your support from the Manchester area, and we will look into talking with CFE in the new year.

Thanks,
Baden
