i tohught the actual quality and concept of the freerunning film was well below the others though. it had no style. despite some amazing skills.
Channel four pulled out all the stops with some vintage skating footage too, its the same clips from public domain that they used in the 7sport programme from the 80's!
Nice to see mike vallely on the telly though.
I loved the flatland and dmcs sections. hopefully that program will be one of those defining moments for some people. |

| completely agree with the free running vid, wasnt that good, and the fire bit. just made it seem sh1t tbh. the flat land bmx vid was quite good i thought, and the danny vid, the way it all seems so chilled. |

Danny reminds me of some of the great snowboarders, he seems to make stuff look so relaxed, he is clearly riding at the extent of his ability and is head and shoulders above his peers but still he looks so chilled out while he is at it.
i went to see him last yr in sheffield recovering from a broken shoulder. he didnt ride though. was still recovering. |

I'm going to invent something stupid and call it a sport
Perhaps hopping on one leg.... I'll call it freehopping, or parkhop, or urban hopping |

hes made trials kinda accessible by being so smooth and takingthe jerkiness out of it i think. Everyone watches his films whether theyre into it or not, i got sent links to it by the unlikliest of people when they first appeared. |

| It's on my list of things to watch tonight on 4OD because I had too much else to watch last night. I did catch a minute or two of it and it did look interesting. |

I've said it before and I'll say it again parkour is for kids without skateboards....
they have mad skills yeah no doubt, just like mr donkey said they have no style... its akin to watching shaun white badger round 1080's or them spinny kicker skiers from the olympics.
killian martin for the win.
Danny is sick though. |

I liked the bmxicans film too, I really liked the fact that he chose a filmer who brought something new to it and managed to capture something more than just mad skillz.
The parkour guys should have gone for the full sabotage effect with their film and made it heavily ironic and stylized in that way. If youre on fire, surely a massive leap into an open air swimming pool while wearing a fake moustache is what you need to put it out, not some chump with a fire extinguisher. |
