I dont have my own board/ set up to alter the angle of the bindings who they do this with the board at chill factore? because i think this may help as it is a feeling my knee is twisted inwards, but i will try letting my bindings off before using the proma.
Switching it would mean going up with my right foot forward this will feel lot more unnatural but will give it a go to see if it helps to be able to do both.
Thanks for all the advice apart from the person who said go up on heel edge, i think i will pass on the idea to make a complete fool of myself.
im sure if you asked them nicely and said you were getting kneeaids from it or similar they would tweak it round for you a little. |

Pain can be worse if the bindings are tight, so might help to loosen them a notch just when in the poma queue and re-tighten at the top. Just try
I tried this today and it worked a treat .. Thanks very much |

I started SB last week with 8 hrs at Glasgow and by the end of the day was dead on my feet but totally hooked.
I had big issues on lift with 3 attempts before being able to get to the top without falling down.
Biggest issue though is moving the board with 1 foot out of bindings as it seriously caused medial ligament pain. I am sensitive to this having had 3 knee ops so will try loosening binding trick next week.
Anyone else though got any tips for moving about on the board itself to lessen knee tension ? |

strapping in while being pulled on the lift will surly only cause more pressure through the knee as you're bending up and down while strapping in - not to mention it's hardly something someone new to drag-lifts will really want to try... Strapping in both feet before setting off could be an option but equally not recommended for new riders - we purposely have the back foot lose so we can put it down and stop quickly if there's a problem (yeah, sure, experienced riders are ok, but again, new ppl should always only have 1 foot strapped in).
m8, all I can suggest (apart from easing off on the bindings-straps on the lift) - check your weight in central... the only way I can think you're twisting your knee is if all your weight is over your front leg - that the case? plant your rear foot next to the back binding and get even weight through both legs (if not a little more on rear leg) - want to keep your body central on board (perpendicular to slope) so means leaning back a little when being dragged up the incline. |

Is is only one knee you have had the ops on? If so maybe try going up the lift the opposite way round - e.g. if you're currently regular then try the lift goofy. As you've only done a few hours on the snow it probably wont be any harder to try it 'backwards'. |

It might also be down to your body just having to get used to Snowboarding as I have no problems with sore legs or knees anymore and I tighten my bindings up fully on my front foot now, Also the left lift at Braehead is like snowboarding on superglue so that won't help either
Maybe get yourself some knee protectors as they will also give your knees a little bit of support as well |

Thanks all. To answer q's ops on both knees but right has had cruciate recon and bucket-handle damage. Left was only a cartilage tear.
Trying to distribute weight better and trying goofy will be given a go.
Again thanks for all comments. Nice to feel able to ask newbie q's. |

Update : switched to goofy, changed bindings and put stomp pad on.
Result : easier to move about, 6 poma rides and no falls.
Thanks for all advice folks, much happier now |
