BUT my problem is that when using the lift its hurting my leading leg mainly my knee, i have injured my knee when i fell a few week back but i think i have got my stance wrong, it only hurts when i get two thrids of the way up.
Any suggestion on what i could try/ correct technique |

As Nick said a common problem and you will get used to it, when your going up is your knee locked straight? I always bend my knee slightly then it's my thigh that takes most of the pressure. You'll get the hang of it and it'll be worth it as you'll come across drag lifts/t-bars in resorts. Some people have issues with these but they're not much differant to button lifts |

^ yeah, you're just using muscles that you're not used to, so they tire and hurt quickly. Not to mention that the first half a dozen times you'll be at CFe on your own you'll be nervous on the Poma so will tense up and make the matter worse. It does get better with time, but I know that doesn't help the situation now.
Pain can be worse if the bindings are tight, so might help to loosen them a notch just when in the poma queue and re-tighten at the top. Just try and keep your weight balanced (not too much on your front leg) and if it hurts then flex your knees and wiggle toes to get the blood moving a bit. Can also be a sign of not warming up properly (along with foot cramp), especially as your muscles aren't used to it. |

| possibly turn your front binding a couple more degrees outwards, my knees are wrecked and on a button lift its constantly trying to pull your body to face up the hill while your foot is held sideways, all this tends to culminate at your knee so if you cna stop it from having to twist as far itll hurt less, worked for me anyway. |

| I now what he means, Rotate your whole body 90 degrees lie a skier would be on the poma. It does help if you get cramp but i don't think its the solution for the op. |

| no, if snowboardinghero is the old user thief (as been suggested in the past), he's just saying dumb stuff to get a rise. suggesting a a beginner tries 1-footed tricks on the Poma as a way to reduce leg-pain - get bent. |

I dont have my own board/ set up to alter the angle of the bindings who they do this with the board at chill factore? because i think this may help as it is a feeling my knee is twisted inwards, but i will try letting my bindings off before using the proma.
Switching it would mean going up with my right foot forward this will feel lot more unnatural but will give it a go to see if it helps to be able to do both.
Thanks for all the advice apart from the person who said go up on heel edge, i think i will pass on the idea to make a complete fool of myself. |
