i always find backside easier

Just out of interest, given the topic of this thread, do you find that also true for switch? For example do you find switch backside 180s easier than half cabs?

no, i find switch frontside easier, probably because its essentially the same spin as regular backside.

switch backside is a bitch, cant get past 1's Mad

some people are just weird though....siany who posts on here find switch backside her easiest spin Shocked

That's what I'd expect. With perhaps a few exceptions, I think most people find switch b/s the hardest spin, regardless of whether they prefer f/s or b/s from normal.

I'm the same as you. From normal, I much prefer b/s, but find switch b/s a really awkward move.

Im not sure how correct it is ( seems a good idea to me) i have been told that next time you hit the slopes, strap in using your rear foot, and learn from the very basics, i have tried it and it seems a good way to learn, i started to learn switch with an instructor in Italy 2 years ago and when i got to the slopes with my mates, i had totally lost my confidence in switch! but after starting from basics pretending you are an opposite rider ( goofy rather than regular for me) you get the hang of it quite quick:), i can imagine that changing the way you set your bindings up will drastically help too, i need to try it this season on one of my boards Smile

Back to basics , so you can control board and it become nearly as natural , everyone is stronger one way over the other , but switch is needed in so many situations , ealier you learn the better

I wish I'd started to force myself to do switch tricks earlier! I can nearly ride down anything switch as well as regular but doing anything other than a switch frontside rotation and I'm seriously struggling, like centridepete I can just about do a SW BS180. It's uncomfortable though. Even ollieing in switch is a struggle! Needing to put some hard, painful graft in this year to learn how to do stuff.

So, yeah, learn this stuff as early as possible.
