Ok, now that I have finally moved I have got a garden whoop whoop! So what I'm wanting to do is build a 'mock' rail/box out of wood (basically 2 'T' shapes stood upside down and a 'cross bar' between the 2 upright bits) I've got the wood etc and reckon I could make it strong enough but before I do go ahead and make it would this actually help me with box tricks etc? All I was gone do is stand in the garden with the board on and ollie on and off it to get used to balancing etc then once I've got the balancing cracked practice all the different combos I can think of.
I have some old carpet to cover the wood to minimise any damage from the 'rail' and a neoprene skin for the board to protect it from any nasties hiding in my grass.
Would this help me even though I won't be moving or be a big waste of time and effort?
With this lovely weather I thought I would be a gleaming idea to get out in the sunshine and still practice our beloved religion |

| why not just get a balance board? it amounts to pretty much the same thing apart from you can do it watching eastenders. |

i've thought about it a couple of times, although i'd be inclinded to try and source an old orange/yellow gas pipe like the ones at MK and use and old board.
I think they help with muscle memory, more so than a balance board but if i could be bothered i'd probably go for both. Dont be tempted to use a skate deck in the living room, they have a habit of shooting out from under you and breaking stuff
quick edit....i'm gona get a gas pipe from somewhere actually and see how it goes |

| Yeah was thinking of that, got an old deck and I've fashioned one out of that and used it whilst playing CoD, FIFA etc however I tend to forget it and leave it so thought this would be more 'real' as I have my board, boots etc and will be then used to the pop of my board, the wieght of it, where I have to land on the rail with regards to foot positioning etc to get the feel right then when I'm next at a slope (prob the bash next month) I won't be a complete n00b, I understand this is the purpose of the bash however I need some other hobby I can do that dosnt require money or a screen and I can do if I have a spare 10mins etc. Chances are I will use it once and never again but if it would help out I may crack on and aspire to be an old starter JP Walker wannabe! |

The council or someone are putting in new gas piping just up the road from me and I saw some by the side of the road so I may aquire some tonight and make a base for this to stop it rolling around when I jump on it. Good idea mate! |

Just go and ask them, I'm sure they can spare 6 foot of it. |

| Yeah will really go and do that, sounds cool and more down with the kids if I say I'm gona steal it though so shhh don't want to lose face! I won't even need 6 foot, literally 1m will be plenty to hop on and off and at lengths like that I'm sure would be useless to them so, they would prob rather give me it than take it back and throw it away. |

| There's a gas depot in Hemel where I've asked for off cuts before and they seem happy enough to get rid of it. Have a Google for your local. |

| Don't need wood for it just cut it across the circumference with an angle grinder. Look on the maverix fb page, they got a ghetto garden set up |
