Am I wrong in the head for thinking it looks slightly fun?
Once you know you're not buried... go with the flow!
*Note, have only ever been in a very small slide, probably is nowhere near as fun as it looks... |

| At what point was she riding that avalanche? She was getting taken along on her back...very lucky to walk away from that one. |

| As soon as she gets faster, just after crossing the shadow, she's riding isn't she? |

I love all the comments from Yahoo readers - Snowboarders are so irresponsible - they're setting off avalanches and filming them. Hope no one was killed below them etc etc!
Seems to me it was a run from the freeride world tour or something! Their hatred for everything on yahoo always makes me laugh! |

My concern with this sort of clip is that it suggests you are able to control your path in a slide. For a real world example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0l3E9IbA_jo
the guy who triggered it watched as the slide engulfed a skier further down the face, whose body has yet to be found due to the terrain trap at the bottom.
Suggests you should look up and down the mountain before you hit that slope.... |

I dont think anyone was suggesting that you can control your path in an avalanche. It was just posted becouse its interesting.
It is of course a tradgedy what happened in Meribel last week, but Avalanches do happen, ad they do kill people (someone died in cham last week as well)
No one is suggesting trying a bit of avalanche riding |

| Took me bloody ages to work out what 'skeys' were. Still no idea what a 'fisher' is. I love Yahoo, it gives special people a place to go and feel at home and saves them spending all day shouting and shaking their fists at aeroplanes. |
