Hey, just thought I'd prewarn anyone considering the insurance recommended by scuk. I took it out thinking it was a gd one, spending twice what I normally pay. On holiday I had delayed tranfers that made me miss my flight n I had to buy new flights, on arriving home I seen my policy only covered me on the departure from the uk, so I wasn't actually cover for any delays while on holiday!!! I don't understand the point of having holiday insurance that does not cover you on holiday! My friend had cheaper insurance n was totally cover.

Why the hell would you tell people to avoid an insurance policy simply because you didnt bother to read the term amd conditins before you paid for it? Sorry but thats an idiots post, tell thousands of people to not buy an insurance policy thats served everyone perfectly well for years and is generally known as the best there is because of your own mistake and laziness?

one idiotic post in this subject is enough thanks, all youve done is show how stupid you were in taking out a policy wihtout actually bothering to read it and them complaining about it when it didnt cover you for something.

So basically what you're saying is that you didn't read the policy...

It is defo worth reading policy documents so that you can fully understand what you are and what you aren't getting.

Have you spoken to the insurance company? Have you spoken to the transfer company, or your holiday company? Perhaps speak to them and see what they can do for you.

Ok, I'm going to lock and move this for a couple of reasons. None of them because you're slating SCUK insurance, we're not biased like that.

1) Read this thread: http://www.snowboardclub.co.uk/PNphpBB2 ... t-241.html Specifically the very last post that says:

Quote:
If you have a complaint about a 3rd party then complain to them directly before you complain about them on the forums, this gives them an opportunity to resolve a problem that may just be a misunderstanding etc. If you still have a problem with the 3rd party then post about them if you want, remember to abide by the terms and conditions of the forum though http://www.snowboardclub.co.uk/legal.html

2) You posted this in the wrong forum.

To be honest, you can't really complain about something which is in the terms and conditions which were freely available before you bought the product. I'm sure you feel hard done by but really you should accept that this is what you paid for.

I've used the SCUK insurance for years and never had a problem, boyfriend broke his ankle this year and they've been brilliant.

If you don't read the policy then that's your own fault.

And I think you'll also find, SCUK don't recommend the policy, they just offer it - you're free to buy wherever the hell you want...

Yeah.. it's your responsibility to check exactly what the insurance covers and whether or not as a result it's appropriate for you.

Plenty of riders in the UK successfully use the SCUK Insurance trip after trip. I'd be talking to your transfer company or if you used one, the tour operator that you booked with for reimbursement.

As Ace said, have you even spoken to the insurance company about it? Your post makes it sound like you haven't even bothered trying!

Just want to say in case anyone is wondering (And in case anyone's accused of censorship!) I got rid of the same message that turned up in the No Mates section, cos I knew there was one here Very Happy

Possibly also worth noting this was posted from one of the IP addresses that our old friend "thief" has used in the past. Not saying it is him, but he wasn't too happy when I banned him for good after a final warning and second chance!

Happy for problems to be aired here generally though, although a problem with a product would be better resolved direct.

The full policy can be downloaded in full on the insurance page though. Not a luxury you're always given online.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you though.
