I was just thinking about funny things I've seen skiers doing and I was wondering if anyone else has any stories to tell.
Here's mine: I once saw a bald, middle aged man in his 80s jump suit and ski boots attempting to play hakisack. I'm sure you can imagine how that looked. |

Its not a single thing, its just the image of a whole coachload of french/italian skiers all following each other down a run, all decked out in the latest season's fashions - lime green, brown floral patterns, bright yellow, puke colour orange...jump suits. Like a fat version of Slipknot. |

| It is always nice to see a Skier, acting flash and then he/she falls over and does the splits. Ohh painful |

now the funnyest thing i've seen:
one moaring mid week at MK, i was just messing around while my friend was having a lesson
anyway these 6 girls on skis wearing jeans and jackets with furry collers and daft ski hats were stood at the top behind me and i heard one of them say 'Follow me I know the route'
so heres me thinking ' what route its straight down' then the girls set off and went weaving in and out of the supporting pillars down the middle!!!!!
i just stood there and laughed |

mine was watching a young french skiier losing his balance, buggering over and seeing him slide down on his backside down the whole slope, which must of been about a kilometre long and was as steep as feck. It took him about a minute to reach the bottom where he smacked into some orange fencing.
The rest of the group found it hilarious, god knows why.... and decided to have a shot too. Within a minute their was about 10 little kids flying down this slope doing the same. The skiing instructor could do nothing and just chased after them yelling in french |

You only have to look at when I tried skiing to see something funny. I could go very fast indeed but never quite got the hang of stopping and remaining standing.
Plus the old slow down by turning up mountain to far and then skiing backwards in the splits.
Nearly took out my instructor, wipped across her skies, losts it, parted compnay with skiies (yet again) and then slide for a good 50 feet, or so down the slope.
etc etc. Needless to say I switched to snowboarding 5 or 6 years ago, and my friends (who still ski) admitted I'm just not as funny to watch as I used to be |

if any body has seen standing sideways. then they will have seen the bit when Yan the skier was sessioning the c-rail and stuck it right between the legs. well i was the one in the background who was rolling around on the floor. we was sat there for a good 20mins waiting for him to do that or how about the bit in the A.K.A film. once again yan comes of the c- rail but this time he ????

Saw this guy in Italy in the usual stylish one-piece, with a dog on his back...
I mean not front legs over his shoulders type stuff, but the guy was wearing something like a kiddy carrier and this dogs head was poking out from under the guys arm pit.
Going down a steepish red it looked like when a dog sticks his head out of a car window.
Is this a new trend? - extreme dog walking!!!! |
