I notice lots of guys while riding hit little natural features on the slope such as a cat track or snow pile or little drop offs on the side of the slope and throw nose-grabs or method grabs very easily while they are in the air.
I can hit medium size jumps up t 20ft with no problems but I cant seem to do any grabs. I normally just pop off the lip of the jump and suck up my knees as hard as possible.
How do people do grabs off such tiny jumps? Do they require a different technique? |

Dunno if this forum prefers search and necro a thread or start a new thread, could not find an answer in the stickies and this title pretty much suits what I want to ask.
When using your back/right regular hand to grab, how do you check where you are grabbing? Doing the kicker at braehead and really trying to do as much variation with grabs as I can but I have no idea if I am grabbing an edge of the board or my binding or tail or anything as I am always looking forward and it feels like I just grab anything. Freaking loving melons at the moment, especially when I bend my knees and push out so the bottom of my board is facing upwards - feels good man but trying tail grabs and stalefishes is hard, super hard compared to roastbeefs and indys.
Is there any specific advice for getting a solid grab with this? Do I really just need to keep practising and get a feel for it because short runs for the kicker take time and it never feels like I get enough hits in so I don't want to feel like I waste them.
As always, any advice greatly appreciated. |
