Yet another randomly pointless question from me. Does anyone else have issues with Gloves and doing up Bindings or am I just a freak? (I expect atleast one person to refer to me as a freak...)
I've seen people whip on/off their bindings while wearing gloves, mittens, gloves AND mittens, and yet I have to remove my gloves to get anywhere with mine. How on earth do people do this? Is it just lots and lots of practice? Personally i've never been able to do anything in gloves (even since a child).
As anyone can imagine, taking your gloves off in -10 conditions isnt the most pleasant idea... |

seen as you're expecting it, you're a freak
I have trouble getting my gloves back on if I take them off,so I try not to take them off at any time. Bindings are easy, grab both bits, one in each hand, crash both bits into each other till they click, then push the buckle bit as far as you can, ratchety ratchety, and you're off. |

Sorry dude you're a freak
Seriously though, might be your gloves. Or your bindings. Or both. What have you got? Different ones can unclip in different ways (some older ones can be trickier) but generally it's just a case of slipping a finger under the buckle and lifting to quick release.
Will definitely be worthwhile taking some time to get into the habit of not taking your gloves off - everytime you do this your hand will get wet (aside from cold) which by the end of the day will saturate the inside of your glove = even colder, wetter hands = misery!!
(and apologies for an offence caused!!) |

I had a similar issue when using the rental stuff at my local dome. I downsized my gloves by 1 size so they were a snugger fit and found it helped a lot.
At least no-one has suggested that he get Flow's yet |

| My bindings can be pretty tough to get undone again, i normally just give the buckle release a bit of a 'gentle' hit and it releases. Failing that, with some bindings just lift up the end of the buckle and it'll release. |

FYI i was refering to both undoing and doing them up. I've always had a hand eye co-ordination issue with gloves and no-gloves (as even with thinner gloves your fingers are still thicker then they should be).
The gloves I have are surfanic make but don't really fit snuggly around my finger tips, maybe thats where the main issue is. I don't actually own my own board only used rental/lesson equipment so far!
Guess i'll just go be weird in the special corner |
