If you've got insurance then you don't one. However if you have an accident and have to get taken off the mountain, you will have to pay. The cost is to get you to the hospital, so the rescue transport, medi centre and ambulance costs have to be fronted up. Obviously your insurance will pay this back, but only once you get your claim in.
Carre neige would cover this cost so you have zero worries. I'd be surprised if the passes came with it.
I don't have it, I just make sure that when I crash I fall all the way to the bottom. Much cheaper.
See you tomorrow dudes.
Dave
PS: Good work on the last minute decision Liggins - awesome way to kick the new year off. |

| a lift pass doenst come with it as standard you pay a few euros a day extra. As our passes have been bought for us i doubt they will have paid the extra but you can still go to the ticket office and get it seperatly. I think its 3 euros a day. Its worth having as it pays for the piste patrol to come and take you down to the hospital. |

If you're a beginner i'd highly doubt u'd be doing anything that would need a carte niege unless some skillless boarder or arrogant skier took you out, or u fell down the side of a mountain by going off the piste.
It's a french resorts way of paying medical staff on the piste and they probably get a fair bit of profit from it too. |

| Of course, u'd think they'd raise the price of the pass up by 1 euro to everyone to cover those costs. |

Call them, they have an emergency telephone line where your details can be checked and you can still receive the treatment etc without actually having the card on you. I had to carry the number around with me instead of a EHIC for the same reason last year. |
