Er, I have to differ there. Ive been stuck in numerous bomb scares over the years, especially in Tube Stations and when working in the City. You just dont hear about it that much, as its not really interesting to hear about.

When the IRA was still attacking the mainland, I often had to find alternative ways home due to train stations being shut.

Its nothing new, just the past few days everything has had to be checked - who knows who else is plotting to blow a few more innocents up? Better to check it out, as for all we know someone sinsiter twort has been influenced by last weeks events and now wants to become the new marytr.

A small minority of brummies can't stand it, and will ring up and make false bomb threats just for the publicity...

I'm from brum originally, (well West Bromwich actually). This is not an attidude I recognise, I don't believe things have changed that much since I left (1987).

Of course, a small minority of people from any town will always have a chip on their shoulder.

Waaayyy, i'm from West Brom too!!!
At uni I'd tell people I was from brimingham and LOADs didn't know it was the second city. People actually thought Manchester was the second city. Don't even get me started on meeting foreign people, it's like Birmingham doesn't even register on the map. Now I'm not overly pro Brummie, but still get a bit pi55ed having to explain geography to people.

Any threat should be taken seriously at any time, if it wasn't we'd all be the first ones moaning about the police and government that they didn't do enough to prevent it.
