Whats so special about contrabands? are they like K2 cinch?
They just have an ankle strap and a rubber bit attached to this that holds your toe down. Quite cool.

There's a little screw in the middle of the footbed that you have to undo (don't unscrew it too much or the little clip holding the screw on can come off) and then the footbed just pulls off and the base plate should be accessible then.
aaah I see, so if you foot was in the binding, the "bed" that it's on actually comes off? Then you can fix the disks to the boards, as normal!?
What about the rubber-y base bit that appears to be stuff on but not so strong glue?? You guys keep it on? |

My contrabands still don't fit. Won't go over the end of my boots enough for me to be 100% confident. Anyway, they're not coming to the Bash anyway as they don't go too well on my EST board CO2 for me... not that I'm racing in the Bash (although I may well overtake a few of you in my role as starter and camera operator). |

Yes.

The only bit that you should totally pull off is the main footbed. The sticking up bits on the 'rubbery base bit' stays on the metal. I know what you mean about the crap glue though. |

They actually dont fit properly over the end of most boots due to a design fault, had this come direct from Ride. Its impossible to get them to stay over the ends and get the toe strap centred it always moves to the side. They said they had corrected it with this years version but aparently not. I spoke to them the other day and they said they were sending me replacement staps from this seasons model to fit to my last seasons contras... and then promptly send me exactly the same straps as i already had,......
Then again even if they're not in the center they still hold your toe fine its just annoying at first. |

| Yeah, itdoesn't matter so much if it's not centered, it just needs to be over your toe. |

I have to pull the toe-strap with my spare hand to get it centralish, which sort of defeats the object of them really. These are brand new large Nitrane Contrands and I'm UK10, so the correct size. I don't think they'd come off as the ankle strap holds my feet well enough on their own at a guess. Tried Rob's large non-Nitrane's at Hemel last week and they do centre fine. I might have to have another play. Can't really send them back |

| I have the nitanes and it took three attempts to get them right. I had to follow the set up instructions and video word for word and then tweak them a bit more. |

Quick piste report, the red down to Pleney was icy, rock hard and bumpy this afternoon. Not been down the blue but might be better. No snow off piste down low on the Morzine side.
