Absolute pony board/company and the dude is DEFO connected to the manufacturer as he has all their stuff on Ebay but he is having none of it, ignoring emails and phone calls cowboy style.
Serves me right I suppose, a lessoned learned but it is well dissapointing, the board fell apart straight away and I should be getting a new one but what can I do ?
Raven gets nil points from me.
That's the guy I bought mine from he was £10 cheaper than buying from Germany. I went with him because I thought it would be safer buying within the uky and the item arrived next day.
The boards looks fine and my friend had purchased one from Germany. His looks the same. I am yet to try it out. 3 weeks to go.
Maybe you just got a bad one. But the after service sounds very unprofessional.
The sellers name was Pawel Zwolinski (zwolo71) |

I bought mine from the guy in Germany, Marcin Pyc. He was very helpful and honest, and answered all my questions quickly and professionally. Ive since ridden the board on two occassions, once at the lecht on decent cover, and once at the gorm on some pretty rocky cover, especially below the midstation which i was forced to board down as i missed the last furnicular down (i was enjoying myself too much) where it took quite a battering. The board has been great to be honest, i really cant fault it so far. I actually met another guy on the mountain sporting a raven core i think, he said its been great so far too, and that he is really impressed considering the price.
There are a few gouges to repair, but it wouldn't be scotland if i didn't have to repair my board on the odd occasion would it. lol. |

It's actually good that I could read your opinion here as it's the only way to learn how companies selling our stuff treat clients. The guy is not connected to the manufacturer. Based on yours and other clients experience, we decided to finish the cooperation with him.
The TTT was till now 100% reliable and it's a kind of board which can stand really a lot. Could you please send me a photo of the delaminated board? We will send you a replacement as soon as we receive the photo from you.

Hi,
Just came across this forum.
I am the agent for Raven Boards for the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg). www.ravenboards.nl
Very interesting what people are saying about this brand. What I notice everywhere is that people that have never seen or tested a Raven board are quite negative. They think it's a crappy brand because of the low prices. But this brand actually has a realy good quality products.
From all people that have bought a board from me I have never got any negative feedback. Really non. Most people are really impressed.
So you can conclude that a board of a very well known brand that costs at least twice as much can be just as good as Raven board. You just pay alot of money for the brand, not for the quality.
So first test a board and than make your conclusions. You won't be disappointed, I am sure about that. |

Gwon, give it some welly!!! I purchased a Drake Urban new for £140 from reading the spec i grabbed it as boards costing £250+ have pretty much same or similar spec, couldn't find as many reviews on the Drake, maybe it isn't as popular as bigger names? |

Most people are just affraid buying stuff that they don't know. In Holland there is a saying (freely translated) If a farmer does not know it, he won't eat it.
So just give it a try. |

we got three the other week and have given one to JP, hes loving it. The one we gave him was a 151 with a three stage rocker/camber profile, its also see through so you can see its been built right, i had a quick lunge test and it felt nice enough. the bindings seem fine as well, we got a set of those too, the ratchets look very sinilar to the forum ones.
if anyone wants to try one out then we will have a couple of demo boards in the next three weeks that people can borrow and try out at a dome for the night.
I need to come on here more often.. bad JP.. BAAAAAD JP.
Hokai. So. Here it Goes. Are we sitting comfortably? Then I shall begin. To start i shall give a bit of background to my riding and you can take what you want from it.
I have been snowboarding for 10 years so far, and doing various comps when i can since 2005. I'm no Terje, but I am always trying to progress and impress :p . I also have been a snowboard instructor for 7 years to which a lot of other instructors i work with say I am totally anal with technique. So to reflect this, I always want a board which can both test and reflect my riding. I love long walks on the beach, watching the sun rise.....
Oh, and by the way... I dont ride with highbacks. :O
About 2 weeks ago as Andy said, he chucked a few boards our way. The only problem with the 151 was that in terms of stability on landing at speed and from height, it was too twitchy. This was totally not due to the quality of the board, but the fact that it was just not the size for me doing such things. On rails however, spinning on and off rails, nose and tailpresses were a joy to do on this board, and i felt totally in control.
I then gave the Raven "Core" (156) a try, and found it to be excellent on jumps with a good amount of pop (even easier to do tricks on the board than my Ride Kink which is of the same size.
Riding without highbacks with the board is very easy with the rocker construction, and makes dryslope riding a lot easier. The tortional flex of the board is just right for my needs as both an instructor demonstrating to my students and also when riding freestyle. Going back to using the word DRYSLOPE (shock horror) the base has taken a fair beating.. even with riding on such "high quality" (jk) materials as ye old sheffield ski village. To the veterans who know that slope, your board needs to be made from stone to withstand the beating it takes.
Overall I have had no problems, infact rather the opposite.
Questions on a postcard.
Hey all!
I'm totally new to the world of snowboarding, I've been for a couple of weeks in the last year or so and I'm totally loving it!... I've rented both times, but now I think its time I bought my first board. During my Ebay and Google searches Raven boards kept popping up everywhere and at really nice prices! Seeing as I don't really want to go much over 200 for both board and bindings (I know, I'm cheap... but for a first board I thought I might as well start at the lower end) these boards look like they could be the ticket! Not sure which Raven board would be right for me, and not sure where I should purchase it... I've been looking on Ebay as I said, but have been slightly put off after reading about this "zwolo71" dude...
I guess first things first does anyone have any advice as to which board would suit me best...
I'm 5 10",
9 stone (130 pounds),
Male (if my name hasn't already given that away),
Size 9 boot,
I'd still class myself as a beginner,
and I just like to carve all over the mountain (no park stuff).
That said, I'm looking at these 2 boards
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Raven-Snowboa ... 4ab1b97f87
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Raven-Snowboa ... 5ae1e993d6
Are these Realistic boards for someone of my physique/experience? Do you think they'll suit my style?
and any of the Raven representatives out there... Is this "snowboards24" seller one you recognise?
If you could get back to me asap that would be great as i'm looking to get back to the mountains any day now, and would love to have my own board with me this time rather than a rented piece of crap...
Thanks a lot guys...
Couldn't believe it when i stumbled on this forum! |

Yes, this is our account. There are two main differences between these boards:
- the RVN is a directional twin and the Core is a true twin board
- the Core is stiffer than the RVN
This results in a higher stability of the Core at high speeds but it's more difficult to do flat tricks. |

I chose the RVN over the Core for that reason. I want to be able to do flat tricks, not really into the parks. And I'm not one for wanting to go really fast. There is also a TTT rocker which is softer and a True Twin Tip. (hence the TTT) But this would be more suited to the park and rails.
I love the styling of the RVN too. Went for the black one which actually is more grey looking on the top as it has a fine pattern rather than solid black. Their website shows it as a solid black top, but I prefer this pattern effect. |

Fantastic, thanks for the advice guys! Really is uber helpful. I'm going to get the RVN white, I think it's the right choice for me and it looks gorgeous! I don't know anything about bindings but the s500's look fine for a first time buyer.
I have one last question before I buy...
There are two RVN whites I'm looking at on Ebay. One is a 150 with s/m bindings and the other is a 154 with m/l bindings... Considering my details above (5 ft 10... Size 9 boot) which should I buy? Thanks again! |

| If you weigh ~60kg you should choose the 150 board. The M/L bindings will be suitable for your shoe size. |

Thanks for your reply
Yeah, that's what I thought, but the deals on ebay don't have that combination... if i want the 150 i have to get the s/m bindings which i'm not sure would fit... in order to get the m/l bindings on the board i want I need to get the 154... Maybe i shouldn't buy it through ebay hmmm :/ |

I was on 2 minds as to whether to go for a 154 or 158. I went for the 158 in the end.
I am the same height and boot size as you and Weigh 77KG = 170lbs.
For Freeride the recommended length is 162 & Freestyle 157
See the chart below:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_zkt_9hWoEco/S ... /chart.jpg
I agree with you the white RVN looks awesome. For the bindings I was going to get the s300's but ended up getting Flow flite 3's. I chose these for 2 reasons. 1. They were only £65 and 2. All my mates either Ski or use Flow's so don't want to be the last one to strap up. |
