Hey guys,

OK, so we'd all love to be able to do this on a trampoline and indeed a snowboard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQNw3IQG59I & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhHaWtJXwZY I'm not gonna bore you with the benefits of trampoline training.

As some of you might know, I live in London where outside space & trampoline clubs are as rare as rocking horse poo.

I've finally managed to find a small family run club near Greenwich that allow adults on their sessions, I went down last night and had an awesome time.

I'm keen to organise a ski/snowboard specific session, as one of my coaches (Grant) is also a trampoline coach. So just wondering if there is much interest from the SCUK ranks for me to organise a session like this?

Either post your interest here or on our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Onyx-Snow ... 243?ref=ts & we'll get something sorted for you guys Very Happy

Baden

meeeeeeeeeee! I'd be interested in this! However, I haven't trampolined since school so I'm pretty sure I'd be rubbish at it now, I know this is still early stages but are you planning on coaching right from the beginning or would it be worth having normal lessons before the snowboard specific ones start so I'm already at a reasonable level? If that makes sense :S

But yeh great idea! Very Happy

Hey Tiffany,

thanks for the reply and interest in my new crazy scheme Smile

No need for any lessons prior, the training will be set at individual levels, if it's your first time then we will help get you comfy on the trampoline first and gradually build up your skills at a pace you are cool with. If you are a little more experienced we will start from there and up your aerial viva.

The aim will be to take the conventional trampoline training and then apply that to more snowboard specific moves that a trampoline coach might usually frown at lol.

I'm chatting with the coaches/owners of the club to see what we can use, as understandably they are concerned for the health of their trampolines.

The chances are if they let us that it will be tramp boards, the big foam type with straps for your feet, as these are a lot kinder to the beds. But will need to be confirmed.

This is one of the reasons that I was looking to host a separate night from their usual adult session, so then we have a higher chance of being able to use tramp boards. It also looks likely that Onyx will purchase a separate trampoline so that we can use the boards on that failing option 1. So either way, yes we are aiming for the use of boards.

Also on a snowsports specific night I am looking to set out practice jib rails like this http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =fbx_album and some other toys so that during your time off the tramp there are more things to keep you upping your skills. It is unlikely they would allow this on a normal adult session.

As soon as I have a ball park for numbers, I can let you guys know a little more Smile we have 4 interested from the facebook group too, so looks very likely this will happen, and soon!

Hey posy_74, a little far I know but we have people from Hemel and Luton who are keen to head as well.

If there is enough interest from the MK area then I can look to add a session there also for you guys. It's my aim to have this kind of dry land training as accessible as possible for you all, massively beneficial to your riding and general fitness.

Skunkfu, the aim is that the session be around the 1-2 hour mark. It will be a 2-3min rotational session on the tramps with a coach, then obviously back on when it is your turn, which will allow lots of tramp time and also keep your energy levels high.

Will have a price for you guys soon Smile thanks for all the interest so far

We have the national gymnastics centre at mk and they have 8-10 tramps. But they are quite 'particular' about who can use them. Muchos interested though.

This does sound awesome, it would be more awesome if it was somewhere I could actually get to. Ah well, maybe someone will set something up in the North.

Hey Charlie,

the plan is to roll this out more nationally along with the Onyx private lessons & coaching products expansion plan. Let me know where you are and we can hopefully get something set up in your area Smile if not, we can at least try to find you a club that will let adults go on the trampolines (which is half the battle).

Jen, that makes 3 of you for MK then, will keep you updated Smile
