Hey all,

For those of you that remember - there was a video on the Onboard site that showed how 2 pro's made one of their old boards into a split board.

I thought this would be a bit of fun so i decided to have a go.

However, i did forget about the project until yesterday when i arranged to get an old board (for £5 Very Happy)

Im going to be posting pictures of its progress, and hoping for any ideas people may have to get this working.

To begin with, i plan to cut the board down the centre, and then add in 2 more sets of Insert strips where the 'ski' positions will be...

Everything u need is here :

http://www.voile-usa.com/Merchant2/merc ... ct_Count=2

They are the same kits that Jones and lib tech use i believe...

Just need to cut the board and then install the kit - you can't split a board which has certain style of insert packs tho... and if its a small flexy board - then kinda a waste of money instally a good sum of moneys worth of hardware into it.

Voile also sell good quality bindings and skins too so worth while getting the lot in one package.

good luck with the project !

naa, we've all discussed this - im going to try and come up with a few different and much cheaper ways of doing it - have a few ideas already.

Last thing i want is to spend that much money.

That board is a 158 old thing that is stiff and thick - its PERFECT Very Happy

as in, for fast mounting or?

you know those generally 'older' bindings have a little lever you pull and you can rotate or lift them off in about 2 seconds? i was thinking of having those 'instant' plates permanently mounted in the 'ski position' and then having some sort of configuration over the standard mounts - somehow :L

I have also considered making my own vist plate but i dont want to add too much weight :/

i have a couple of ideas to hold the 2 sides together, but im still thinking about 'fast' ways to change from snowboard to skis' - tbh, unless its a 'lengthy' unscrewing, i cant think of much :/

any ideas?
