Looking at EasyJet, they give me the option of Geneva or Grenoble.

What's my best bet and can anyone recommend a cheap transfer company?

Cheers!

Grenolble is a bit closer geneva gives you more transfer options. Public bus from right outside the airports door to door 60 euros

Unfortunately it's each way, it is nearly a 4 hour drive after all. If it's just for one or two people it's the cheapest way, a private mini bus transfer will sell you back between 3 and 4 hundred each way so is only viable for a bigger group

Return journey is valid for two months.... so you might need to factor that in if you are going for a season.

I've done both.

But my last flight to Grenoble didn't land due to bad weather and easyJet diverted us to Lyon. They left us ALL DAY at Lyon airport with no announcements or updates. Eventually they took us on a coach to Grenoble (airlines are required by law to get you to the destination in the event of a diversion) but it was 8 hours after our transfer had left and all the scheduled buses had stopped for the night. We ended up with a very expensive taxi bill...

Geneva airport is much bigger and therefore less likely to shut in the event of bad weather.

If I go via Grenoble again, I'm either only doing it during "better weather months" or with a decent airline. I'm sure it only happens a handful of times a season but I don't want to go through that again.

chambery and grenoble closed a few times last year on transfer days, making it somewhat of a mare!

Geneva didnt, it helps that its lower and further away Smile
