Me and my husband intend to stay in Whistler at the end of February for our first wedding anniversary Smile
We are currently looking for where to and where not to stay.

We like to look of the Four Seasons also has anyone stayed at Aava?? or any other ideas? We want a pool and hottubs and comforts (not budget)

Cheers

Jane

We stayed at First Tracks in Creekside a couple of years back. It's proper luxury and right at the bottom of the Creekside Gondola. Also if you wanna treat yourselves get a limo xfer from the airpost Thumbs Up We used Ski Safari for our trip and they were great!

Not that I can comment on luxury Whislter as that way out of my budget, but if I was to be paying top bucks I would want the best location. Four Seasons is close enough to the base of Blackcomb mountain but a bit of a walk to Whistler base and the main village where most of the shops, bars etc are. Try the Pan Pacific, Westin, Hilton or Sundial hotels. Westin and Pan have hot tubs and pools but not sure about the others. Enjoy.

I'll give you my opinion on all the hotels,
In the village main 3 hotels, the Weston great rooms modern but small pool. hilton-standad rooms nothing out of the ordinary, decent pool but very public. pan pacific (mountainside dont go for village) very modern rooms kitchen suites available, awesome spa/pool areas with the best views in town. Outside the village, but in the upper (5mins walk) right beside blackcomb, the 4 seasons is the most baller hotel you can stay in (not just canada but north america) it is the ultimate in coolness. The fairmont chateaux i findto be very dated, i guess it depends on your style, its still ultra classy but classy from like 30 years ago.
Let me know if you have a quest for more knowledge on anything.

My parents stayed in the Chateau Fairmont when they visited me a couple of times.

It's obviously a top hotel and has a pool and hottub etc.
You can't really go wrong with any of the top hotels really.

DG, as for your comments about walking... bare in mind that we are talking about luxury hotels. They have their own shuttle buses that will run you around. Not to mention they have Ski Concierge which will pick up your Skis at the base of the mountains so you don't have to carry them.
